Tržní hospodářství v katolickém sociálním učení – historický přehled a sociálněetická analýza
2016
Catholic social teaching, beginning in the 19th century, aimed at nurturing and improving Christian morality in the emerging industrialized societies. However, several significant studies demonstrate that changing social structures were also responsible for the ‘social question’ of the time. Consequently bishops, such as Ketteler, fought for social reforms and a new social order. Nevertheless, the idea that free market economy could play a significant role in coordinating economic agents seemed foreign to Catholic social teaching. In this paper, I argue that today Catholic social teaching acknowledges and appreciates market economies, if and insofar as they are regulated and understood in t…
ABSTRACT In this paper we suggest a revision of the classic division between cognotivistic and non cognotivistic points of view after reviewing some “highlights” of the theory of knowledge as a new "first philosophy" or philosophy of mod…
Justicia transicional y justicia reconstitutiva
2014
Burnout, work engagement and workaholism among highly educated employees: Profiles, antecedents and outcomes
2014
The present study examined the longitudinal profiles of burnout, engagement and workaholism among highly educated employees. First, the latent profile modeling indicated two latent classes: Engaged and Exhausted-Workaholic. Second, the results revealed that employees with the Engaged profile experienced high levels of energy and dedication, whereas employees with the Exhausted-Workaholic profile experienced exhaustion, cynicism and workaholism. Social pessimism in the transition from high education to work predicted poor subjective well-being at work. Further, workaholism decreased during the career among members of the Exhausted-Workaholic profile suggesting positive direction during caree…
Coercion and Non-State Law
2016
Abstract The aim of this paper is to introduce some elements of a research project in legal philosophy. Its goal is to identify some crucial topics for the definition of law. In the first part (§§ 1 & 2) I analyse some methodological difficulties of the dominant research on the definition of law. In the second part (§§ 3 & 4) I refer to some current development of law and sketch some characteristics of the object to be defined, corresponding to what can be called the process of law differentiation. In the last part of this contribute I try to sum up some elements to be taken in account in the definition of a differentiated law. Key words: Differentiation of law, Legal pluralism, Jus…

Is fatherhood allowed? : Media discourses of fatherhood in organizational life
2019
It has been claimed that in the context of organizations and management, fathers are invisible. One source of tension for fathers who work and who want to participate in family life is that even though involved fatherhood is emerging in many western societies, a family-oriented male identity is likely to be problematic for men in organizations. This article aims to contribute to a better understanding of a professional and managerial men's work-family relationship using discourse analysis on data from three different media sources in Finland, published during 1990-2015. We identified two competing discourses: one of stasis, the other of change. The stasis discourse is constructed around tra…
Percepciones Organizacionales, Liderazgo y Desempeño en el Trabajo: ¿Están Relacionados?
2011
An in depth review of literature shows that there is a pressing need to holistically understand how and why the organizational leadership process affects organizational behavior in outcomes (e.g. job performance) differently, depending on various national culture settings. One approach may seek to unveil the moderation of cultural values on the relationship between preferred as well as exhibited styles of leadership and behavioral organizational outcomes. An alternative approach may explore how and why cultural values affect the relationship between the quality of leader - subordinate relationships (LMX) and behavioral organizational outcomes differently. Moreover, as we notice a constant g…
