The aim of this study was to investigate the combined effects of tactical and contextual indicators on achieving offensive penetration and scoring opportunities in English Premier League (EPL) soccer matches. A total of 1971 team possessions from 20 random matches were evaluated by means of multidimensional observation. The EPL matches had a great proportion of fast attacks (36.0%) followed by combinative (29.6%), direct attacks (24.1%) and counterattacks (9.5%). Multilevel logistic regression models revealed that counterattacks (OR = 3.428; 95% CI: 2.004–5.864; P<0.001) were more effective to create goal scoring opportunities than combinative attacks, while direct attacks showed to be less…

Oscillometry is an alternative to continuous-wave Doppler (cw-Doppler) to determine peripheral artery disease (PAD) severity using the ankle-brachial index (ABI). cw-Doppler ABI differentiates systolic pressure of ATP and ADP where either one of both values in most patients is higher (high) and the other value is lower (low). In contrast, oscillometric ABI measures the strongest signal and hence misses the lower value. Both do not take pedal perfusion into consideration. Burner backflow reduction in regeneration furnace

In the present case from the steel industry, waste hydrochloric acid from the pickling process is regenerated using spray roasting. The process is driven by four burners placed symmetrically along the periphery of the cylindrical main section of the reactor. Severe problems with gas backflow and sintering of iron oxide inside the burner chamber have led to a complete shut down of the process 1-2 times every week, which is a frequency which significantly affects the productivity.
