Anomaly detection approach to keystroke dynamics based user authentication

Keystroke dynamics is one of the authentication mechanisms which uses natural typing pattern of a user for identification. In this work, we introduced Dependence Clustering based approach to user authentication using keystroke dynamics. In addition, we applied a k-NN-based approach that demonstrated strong results. Most of the existing approaches use only genuine users data for training and validation. We designed a cross validation procedure with artificially generated impostor samples that improves the learning process yet allows fair comparison to previous works. The limited adoption of Open Educational Resources (OER) has kicked off the launch of several projects to search for possible solutions. One of these projects is “Open Educational Ideas and Innovations” (OEI2). The goal of this project is to find alternatives for increasing the uptake of OER and facilitating the collaborative development of OER. Research literature clustering using diffusion maps

We apply the knowledge discovery process to the mapping of current topics in a particular field of science. We are interested in how articles form clusters and what are the contents of the found clusters. A framework involving web scraping, keyword extraction, dimensionality reduction and clustering using the diffusion map algorithm is presented. We use publicly available information about articles in high-impact journals. The method should be of use to practitioners or scientists who want to overview recent research in a field of science. Government policy failure in public support for research and development

peer-reviewed Promoting Research and Development (R&D) and innovative activity is a key element of the EU Lisbon Agenda and is seen as playing a central part in stimulating economic development. In this paper we argue that, even allowing for benevolent policy-makers, informational asymmetries can lead to a misallocation of public support for R&D, hence government policy failure, with the potential to exacerbate preexisting market failures. Identifying Critical Determinants of ‘Digital Customer Services’ Usage – An Exploratory Study

Digital technology has reinvented retail business as well as commerce. This study aims to examine consumers’ perception and usage of digital customer services (DCS) and investigate three significant post-adoption and marketing consequences: simplicity, awareness, and usefulness. Using a purposeful sampling technique, 10 semi-structured, in-depth interviews were conducted with banking customers in Finland in January 2019. The research findings suggest that simplicity regarding DCS occupies a key position in their prolonged use, while awareness and usability are also important. Tutkielma käsittelee myyräkuumeen mallintamista tila-avaruusmalleilla. Tutkin myyrärunsauksien ja myyräkuumetapausten välistä riippuvuutta ja selvitän, voidaanko myyrärunsauksilla ennustaa tulevia myyräkuumetapausten lukumääriä. Sen lisäksi selvitän, kuinka monen kuukauden viiveellä myyräkuumetapaukset ilmenevät suhteessa myyrärunsauksiin. Sekä myyrärunsaudet että myyräkuumetapausten lukumäärät vaihtelevat vuodenajan mukaan.
