One of the first instruments that was produced in Silesia in the spirit of the Orgelbewegung was the organ of the Youth Leisure and Training Centre in Kłodzko-Jurandów. This centre, founded on the initiative of Richard Poppe, became a source of renewal for the Singbewegung in Eastern Germany. The instrument, called Ver sacrum (Sacred Spring), was meant to commemorate and remind everyone of all those who had sacrificed themselves and given their lives for their Fatherland (in particular, the fallen soldiers of the First World War). La domanda è se l'ornamento non abbia una dimensione etica. Per rispondere, studierò qui tre momenti storici decisivi di questo dibattito: la teoria dell'armonia di Alberti, l'approccio della scuola di Chicago alle relazioni di forma e funzione (LH Sullivan e J. Root) e la critica dell'ornamento in A. Loos. Online shopping addiction can be defined as an Internet-based behavioural addiction which may lead to economic problems. Even though shopping is increasingly common through mobile devices, the effects of smartphone use on online shopping addiction are underexamined. Following a survey of 1000 18 to 29-year-olds in Finland, we examined young adults' online shopping addiction and economic problems from the perspective of self-regulation and problems in regulating smartphone use. Oxidative stress markers seem to be higher in patients with anorexia nervosa (AN) than healthy controls, but the potentially beneficial effects of weight gain is not known. We calculated random effects standardised mean differences (SMDs) as effect size measures of oxidative stress marker changes after re-alimentation reported in two or more studies, summarising others descriptively. Seven longitudinal studies (n = 104) were included. After a median follow-up period of 8 weeks, AN patients significantly increased their body mass index (15.1 ± 2.1 to 17.1 ± 2.2, p < 0.0001). Skalbes pasakās līdz 1918. gadam’’ mērķis ir izpētīt indivīda izvēles morālos aspektus, kas sastopami Kārļa Skalbes pasakās, kas uzrakstītas līdz 1918. gadam. K. Skalbes pasakas ietver kristīgo vērtību sistēmu, kā arī latvisko dzīvesziņu. Darbs sastāv no trīs daļām, no kurām pirmajā daļā tiek pētīta K. Skalbes personība, otrajā daļā tiek apskatīta morāle kristietībā un latviskajā dzīvesziņā, bet visbeidzot trešajā daļā pētītas pasakas morāles kontekstā. Pasakas pētītas balstoties uz kardinālajiem tikumiem – gudrību, taisnīgumu, drosmi, mērenību.

AbstractIn this nonconfirmatory qualitative study, we pursued a range of hypotheses regarding how gaming operates in the lives and psychosocial wellbeing of those who actively play videogames during a crisis, such as the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Informed by an explorative survey (N = 793), interpretive phenomenological analysis was applied to interview data from actively gaming Chinese (n = 10) and Finnish (n = 10) participants. Facile metal-free splitting of molecular hydrogen (H2) is crucial for the utilization of H2 without the need for toxic transition-metal-based catalysts. Frustrated Lewis pairs (FLPs) are a new class of hydrogen activators wherein interactions with both a Lewis acid and a Lewis base heterolytically disrupt the hydrogen−hydrogen bond. Here we describe the activation of hydrogen exclusively by a boron-based Lewis acid, perfluoropentaphenylborole. This antiaromatic compound reacts extremely rapidly with H2 in both solution and the solid state to yield boracyclopent-3-ene products resulting from addition of hydrogen atoms to the carbons α to boron in the starting borole.
