Tuberculosis (TB) kills 2 million people each year in the world, of which 250,000 are children. In Italy, paediatric TB is 3.5% of total cases with a steady trend in the last ten years. Childhood tuberculosis remains a disease of great concern because its occurrence always indicates recent transmission and is a pivotal indicator of effectiveness of TB control efforts. The epidemiological study, including DNA fingerprinting, of 71 children affected by TB - 62 pulmonary, 9 meningitis, 2 renal-shows that the source case is frequently a parent or household member. This paper is a description of a report that the author prepared in the winter of 2015 at the request of the Minister of Education in the previous government of Finland. Arterial hypertension (AH) among adults is known to be associated with worse cognitive outcomes. Similarly, children and adolescents with AH could be expected to underperform during neuropsychological evaluations when compared with healthy peers. Educational research places emphasis on the fact that pupils with Learning Disabilities may develop depressive and anxiety symptoms characterized by lower levels of self-esteem. The aim of this research is to compare the levels of depression, anxiety at school and self-esteem in children with learning disabilities, mathematical disabilities and a control group who showed typical learning. The participants were 132 children (52 girls and 80 boys), with an average age of 9 years, attending the fourth grade of primary school.
