The early childhood education and care partnership for bilingualism in minority language schooling : collaboration between bilingual families and ped…

2016

Educational partnerships occur at the intersection of early childhood education and care (ECEC), families, and the surrounding community, and have been shown to play a significant role in student success rates in education. There is, however, a gap in research on the role and potential of ‘partnership’ in the case of bilingual families with children enrolled in monolingual minority language ECEC. This study aimed to fill this void by examining parental and practitioner discourses on partnership and on obligations, desires, abilities, and competencies involved in acting on a bilingual childhood in the context of monolingual minority ECEC. Parents in nine Finnish–Swedish bilingual families an…

Children who write about wise female protagonists of tales, children who think

2018

[EN] Within the proposed theme, this article has as its overall objective to provide a search that shows children’s texts of the third grade of Childhood Education and second-year-elementary-school students on traditional tales starring wise women. To obtain the texts has been designed and implemented a didactic sequence. The results achieved and the analysis carried out show that the writings made by children are successful texts. Stand out, to conclude, some key aspects of the investigation: the proposal of activities with regard to the school and the approach of different mediations as didactic sequence and literary texts, which become an engine of learning for the children.

Cognitive vulnerability to depressive symptoms in children: the protective role of self-efficacy beliefs in a multi-wave longitudinal study.

2014

The current multi-wave longitudinal study on childhood examined the role that social and academic self-efficacy beliefs and cognitive vulnerabilities play in predicting depressive symptoms in response to elevations in idiographic stressors. Children (N = 554; males: 51.4 %) attending second and third grade completed measures of depressive symptoms, negative cognitive styles, negative life events, and academic and social self-efficacy beliefs at four time-points over 6 months. Results showed that high levels of academic and social self-efficacy beliefs predicted lower levels of depressive symptoms, whereas negative cognitive styles about consequences predicted higher depression. Furthermore,…

LA VERSIONE ITALIANA DELLA CECA (CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCE OF CARE AND ABUSE): L’INTERVISTA PER LA RILEVAZIONE EMPIRICA DELLE ESPERIENZE DI CURA ED ABUSO …

2011

La versione italiana dell’intervista CECA (Childhood Experience of Care and Abuse): caratteristiche psicometriche su campioni non clinici e clinici.

2011

2007

Abstract Teratoma is the most common germ cell tumour in childhood; mature (MT) and immature teratomas (IT) are benign tumours, but if they recur, they can be in some cases malignant. SURGERY IN PATIENTS WITH TESTICULAR MALIGNANT GERM CELL TUMORS: COMPLIANCE TO SURGICAL GUIDELINES AND RESULTS IN THE ITALIAN COOPERATIVE STUDY

2011

Purpose: Surgery represents a main and often the only treatment in patients with testicular Malignant Germ Cell Tumors (MGCT). We analyzed the compliance to surgical guidelines and the results in a series of patients with testicular MGCT -/+ retroperitoneal node involvement, without distant metastases. Method: 42 patients, observed in 15 Centers were enrolled in the Italian Cooperative Study on MGCT (January2004–December2010). 14/42 were younger than 2 y. of age, 28/42 between 13–18 y. Treatment was delivered according to COG-Staging-System: St.I patients (complete excision with inguinal orchifunicolectomy+decrease of markers, +hemiscrotectomy if scrotal involvement) did not receive further…
