Scrum- ja XP-käytänteiden käyttö : haastattelututkimus

2011

Tässä tutkielmassa tutkitaan kahden ketterän menetelmän, Scrumin ja XP:n, käytänteiden käyttöä suomalaisissa ohjelmistoalan yrityksissä. Tarkoituksena on selvittää, mitä käytänteitä käytetään ja millä tavalla, millaisia kokemuksia niistä on saatu ja miten kokemukset vertautuvat aiempien tutkimusten tuloksiin. Tutkimus koostuu kahdesta osasta. Ensimmäisessä osassa on rakennettu työlle ketterää lähestymistapaa, ketteriä menetelmiä ja käytänteitä koskeva käsitteellinen perusta ja esitellään alan aiempia tuloksia. Toinen osa on toteutettu puolistrukturoituna haastattelututkimuksena, johon osallistui kuusi haastateltavaa neljästä suomalaisesta yrityksestä. Tutkimuksessa todettiin, että aikaisemp…

New evidence of mantle heterogeneity beneath the Hyblean Plateau (southeast Sicily, Italy) as inferred from noble gases and geochemistry of ultramafi…

2012

Abstract We analyzed major and trace elements, Sr and Nd isotopes in ultramafic xenoliths in Miocenic age Hyblean diatremes, along with noble gases of CO2-rich fluid inclusions hosted in the same products. The xenoliths consist of peridotites and pyroxenites, which are considered to be derived from the upper mantle. Although the mineral assemblage of peridotites and their whole-rock abundance of major elements (e.g., Al2O3 = 0.8–1.5 wt.%, TiO2 = 0.03–0.08 wt.%) suggest a residual character of the mantle, a moderate enrichment in some incompatible elements (e.g., LaN/YbN = 9–14) highlights the presence of cryptic metasomatic events. In this context a deep silicate liquid is considered the me…

CHLORITE/SMECTITE - ALKALI FELDSPAR METASOMATIC XENOLITHS FROM HYBLEAN MIOCENIC DIATREMES (SICILY, ITALY): EVIDENCE FOR EARLY INTERACTION BETWEEN HYD…

2006

Upper-Miocene tuff-breccia pipes from the Hyblean area (south-eastern Sicily) bear a number of ultramafic and mafic xenoliths (spinel-peridotites, pyroxenites, gabbroic rocks) whose study has led to conclude that the Meso-Caenozoic carbonatic and volcanic succession stands upon a fossil oceanic core-complex, probably connected with the adjacent Ionian crust. Evidence for hydrothermal metasomatism is common in the Hyblean ultramafic and mafic xenoliths. In some cases, extreme metasomatic transformation and shearing have deleted original mineralogy and textures yielding unusual rocks, hereafter called “metasomatites”. These rocks generally exhibit cataclastic texture, their hydrothermal miner…

Analytical measurements of fission products during a severe nuclear accident

2018

The Fukushima accident emphasized the fact that ways to monitor in real time the evolution of a nuclear reactor during a severe accident remain to be developed. No fission products were monitored during twelve days; only dose rates were measured, which is not sufficient to carry out an online diagnosis of the event. The first measurements were announced with little reliability for low volatile fission products. In order to improve the safety of nuclear plants and minimize the industrial, ecological and health consequences of a severe accident, it is necessary to develop new reliable measurement systems, operating at the earliest and closest to the emission source of fission products. Throug…

Kerr self-cleaning of pulsed beam in an ytterbium doped multimode fiber

2017

International audience; We experimentally demonstrate that Kerr spatial self-cleaning of a pulsed beam can be obtained in an amplifying multimode optical fiber. An input peak power of 500 W only was sufficient to produce a quasi-single-mode emission from the double-clad ytterbium doped multimode fiber (YMMF) with non-parabolic refractive index profile. We compare the self-cleaning behavior observed in the same fiber with loss and with gain. Laser gain introduces new opportunities to achieve spatial self-cleaning of light in multimode fibers at a relatively low power threshold.

A Review on Applications of Big Data for Disaster Management

2017

International audience; The term " disaster management " comprises both natural and man-made disasters. Highly pervaded with various types of sensors, our environment generates large amounts of data. Thus, big data applications in the field of disaster management should adopt a modular view, going from a component to nation scale. Current research trends mainly aim at integrating component, building, neighborhood and city levels, neglecting the region level for managing disasters. Current research on big data mainly address smart buildings and smart grids, notably in the following areas: energy waste management, prediction and planning of power generation needs, improved comfort, usability …

The 30 Year Search for the Compact Object in SN 1987A

2018

Despite more than 30 years of searches, the compact object in Supernova (SN) 1987A has not yet been detected. We present new limits on the compact object in SN 1987A using millimeter, near-infrared, optical, ultraviolet, and X-ray observations from ALMA, VLT, HST, and Chandra. The limits are approximately 0.1 mJy ($0.1\times 10^{-26}$ erg s$^{-1}$ cm$^{-2}$ Hz$^{-1}$) at 213 GHz, 1 Lsun ($6\times 10^{-29}$ erg s$^{-1}$ cm$^{-2}$ Hz$^{-1}$) in optical if our line-of-sight is free of ejecta dust, and $10^{36}$ erg s$^{-1}$ ($2\times 10^{-30}$ erg s$^{-1}$ cm$^{-2}$ Hz$^{-1}$) in 2-10 keV X-rays. Our X-ray limits are an order of magnitude less constraining than previous limits because we use a…
