Äitiysidentiteetin uudelleenrakentaminen vammautumisen jälkeen
2019
Vammautuneiden äitien kertomuksista löytyi neljä kerronnallista jännitettä, joiden kautta he rakensivat äitiysidentiteettiään: 1) merkityksetön vai merkityksellinen elämä, 2) lapsen rakkauden menettäminen vai äidin ensisijaisen aseman säilyttäminen, 3) kyvyttömyys toimia äitinä vai äitinä selviytyminen sekä 4) riippuvaisuus lapsesta vai hoivan antajana toimiminen.
Effectiveness of a kindergarten-based intervention to increase vegetable intake and reduce food neophobia amongst 1-year-old children: a cluster rand…
2021
Background: Children’s first years of life are crucial to their future health. Studies show that a varied diet with a high intake of vegetables is positive in several domains of health. The present low vegetable intake amongst children is, therefore, a concern. Food neophobia is a common barrier to vegetable intake in children. As most Norwegian children attend kindergarten from an early age, kindergartens could contribute to the prevention of food neophobia and the promotion of vegetable intake. Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the effect of a cluster randomised trial amongst 1-year-old children in kindergarten to reduce food neophobia and promote healthy eating. Methods: Kin…

Internationalization of family-controlled SMEs from the process, network and socioemotional wealth perspectives
2016
Perheyritysten kansainvälistyminen on saanut vähän huomiota kansainvälisen liiketoiminnan tutkimusalalla. Tämä laadullinen tapaustutkimus tarttuu tähän tutkimusaukkoon ja lähestyy teemaa jopa perheyritysten kansainvälistymistutkimuksessa itsessään suhteellisen vähälle huomiolle jääneiden näkökulmien kautta: prosessi, verkosto ja sosioemotionaalinen vauraus (socioemotional wealth, SEW). Tämä tutkimus tarjoaa vastauksia siihen, kuinka perheiden kontrolloimat pk-yritykset rakentavat kansainvälisiä verkostoja, minkälaisia ulkomaiset verkostosuhteet ovat ja missä määrin SEW selittää yritysten kansainvälistymistä. Jotta tutkimustavoitteilla olisi heijastuspintaa, tutkimusta varten tehtiin kattava…

Multidisciplinary Peer-Mentoring Groups Supporting Knowledge Sharing in Doctoral Education
2021
Obtaining a doctoral degree requires acquisition of different types of skills and knowledge. The aim of this article is to explore multidisciplinary peer-mentoring groups (PMGs) facilitated by senior academics as a knowledge sharing practice in doctoral education. Drawing from interviews with participants of PMGs at a Finnish university, we found that the participants perceived that cultures and practices of doctoral education in departments and faculties, as well as limited support from supervisors might hinder knowledge sharing. They highlighted that a flat hierarchy and confidential atmosphere supported by the multidisciplinary group composition promoted knowledge sharing and emotional s…
Expertise-by-Experience in Child and Family Services : Professionals' Perspectives on Experiential Knowledge
2022
This study analyses child and family service professionals' perceptions of expertise-by-experience. Group and individual interviews with professionals were analysed. The analysis yielded three main dimensions of experiential knowledge: supportive peer knowledge; contested knowledge, in which education and talking among peers in small groups helps experts-by-experience to locate the limits of their knowledge before publicly disclosing their inner thoughts; and emotional knowledge, which is based on shared experiences of emotional challenges and vulnerability. The results support the call for a critical appraisal of experiential knowledge. The increasing demand for experiential knowledge mean…
