Verb-Second and (micro)-variation in two Rhaeto-Romance varieties of Northern Italy.

Rhaeto-Romance varieties are the only present-day Romance varieties which exhibit the Verb Second constraint (Benincà 1994, Poletto 2002, Salvi 2010). In this chapter we examine two properties typically ascribed to the Verb Second phenomenon, subject-finite verb inversion and restrictions on the co-occurrence of multiple constituents in the sentence-initial position, in two Rhaeto-Romance varieties spoken in South Tyrol (Province of Bolzano, Northern Italy). Defects in III-N LEDs: experimental identification and impact on electro-optical characteristics

III-N light-emitting-diodes (LEDs) are subject of intense investigations, thanks to their high efficiency and great reliability. The quality of the semiconductor material has a significant impact on the electro-optical performance of LEDs: for this reason, a detailed characterization of defect properties and the modeling of the impact of defects on device performance are of fundamental importance. This presentation addresses this issue, by discussing a set of recent case studies on the topic; specifically, we focus on the experimental characterization of defects, and on the modeling of their impact on the electro-optical characteristics of the devices.
Dangerous Effects Induced on Power MOSFETs by Terrestrial Neutrons

This paper investigates the effects that terrestrial neutrons can induce on power MOSFETs when they are biased during their normal working conditions especially in inverters for photovoltaic applications. After a brief review of power MOSFETs failure phenomena caused by neutron irradiation (with emphasis on so called “Single Event Effects” (SEE)), the results of an accelerated test performed with the Am-Be source at the University of Palermo are discussed.

After the patrimonial destruction that took place during the Civil War of 1936-1939 in the city of Cartagena, religious art and especially sacred sculpture, is greatly affected. The artistic expressions that the Passionist entities took to the streets on the days of Holy Week, disappear almost in their entirety, having to start a tremendously costly reconstruction process in order to alleviate the losses suffered. The Cofradía California commissioned the renovation of its sculptural patrimony heritage, which came to replace the wealth of the works of Salzillo, to the Valencian artist Mariano Benlliure Gil. Pētījuma mērķis ir novērtēt smaganu perfūziju izmeklējamām personām izmantojot photopletizmogrāfijas metodi. Viens no pētījuma mērķiem bija reģistrēt kapsacīna izraisīto neiro-iekaisuma efektu. Metodoloģija Šķērsgriezuma pētījums, tika veikts iekļaujot nelielu izmeklējamo personu grupu , izmeklējamās personas pirms pētījuma veikšanas tika iepazīstinātas ar protokolu un rakstiski apstiprināja dalību pētījumā. Pētījuma gaitā smaganu perfūzijas tika reģistrēta miera apstākļos, un aplicējot uz smaganu virsmas kapsacīnu saturošu piparu ekstraktu, kas izraisīja pārejošu neirogēnu iekaisumu, ar tam raksturīgo hiperēmiju.
