Data from: First records of complete annual cycles in water rails Rallus aquaticus show evidence of itinerant breeding and a complex migration system

In water rails Rallus aquaticus, northern and eastern populations are migratory while southern and western populations are sedentary. Few details are known about the annual cycle of this elusive species. We studied movements and breeding in water rails from southernmost Norway where the species occurs year-round. Colour-ringed wintering birds occurred only occasionally at the study site in summer, and vice versa. Geolocator tracks revealed that wintering birds (n = 10) migrated eastwards in spring to breed on both sides of the Baltic Sea, whereas a single breeding bird from the study site wintered in north Italy. Con la sentenza n. 2315/2020 la Suprema Corte ha affermato il principio che l’accertamento dell’anzianità di servizio conseguente ad un trasferimento d’azienda può essere affrontato nell’ambito del rito speciale di impugnazione del licenziamento introdotto dalla L. n. 92/2012. Nella decisione in commento la Corte ha altresì modo di dare continuità all’orientamento per cui la fattispecie traslativa si perfeziona anche in presenza di un mero passaggio di personale in forza di obbligo contrattuale o di legge. With judgement n. 2315/2020 the Supreme Court affirmed the principle that the ascertaining of seniority of service of the employee because of a transfer of undertaking can be examined by the judge according to the special rules of law n. 92/2012. The Court does not exclude a transfer of undertaking also in the case it concerns the staff only for a contractual or legal obligation. Bio-inspired consolidants derived from crystalline nanocellulose for decayed wood

Abstract Novel bio-inspired materials derived from crystalline nanocellulose (CNC) have been tested as wood consolidants. A suspension of CNC, produced by acid hydrolysis of cellulose and used as such or mixed with lignin and/or siloxane derivatives (PDMS), was applied on rotted wood samples of Norway spruce. X-Ray diffraction analysis on CNC powder showed high crystallinity index. Dynamic light scattering (DLS) measurement indicated a nearly uniform particle size distribution with an average hydrodynamic diameter for pure CNC smaller than that in the mixtures. Modeling an X-ray Flare on Proxima Centauri: evidence of two flaring loop components and of two heating mechanisms at work

We model in detail a flare observed on Proxima Centauri with the EPIC-PN on board XMM-Newton at high statistics and high time resolution and coverage. Time-dependent hydrodynamic loop modeling is used to describe the rise and peak of the light curve, and a large fraction of the decay, including its change of slope and a secondary maximum, over a duration of more than 2 hours. Thermodynamical aspects regarding the formation of self-assembly decylpolyglucoside structures

In this study, we used a generalized form of a recently reported parametrization based on the differential geometry and the thermodynamics of dispersed systems to ascertain the capability of decylpolyglucoside alone or in association with cholesterol to form vesicle structures (niosomes). Interfacial Modification for High-Efficiency Vapor-Phase-Deposited Perovskite Solar Cells Based on a Metal Oxide Buffer Layer.

Vacuum deposition is one of the most technologically relevant techniques for the fabrication of perovskite solar cells. The most efficient vacuum-based devices rely on doped organic contacts, compromising the long-term stability of the system. Here, we introduce an inorganic electron-transporting material to obtain power conversion efficiencies matching the best performing vacuum-deposited devices, with open-circuit potential close to the thermodynamic limit. In the first part of this work a simple model for the description of the radiant field in heterogeneous photoreactors was developed, based on the assumption of zero reflectance of the particles. In this second part of the investigation a limiting model is developed in which the above hypothesis is removed. Linear versus Three-Arm Star Polybutadiene: Effects of Polymer Architecture on the Thermodynamic Solution Behavior

The interaction of linear and of three-arm star polybutadiene (PB) with THF was studied in the temperature range between 25 and 55 °C. Information for dilute solution rests on light scattering experiments; Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ stem from vapor pressure measurements as a function of φ, the volume fraction of polymer. Despite the minute divergence in the architecture, the second osmotic virial coefficients of the two PBs differ noticeably. Crystalline-Size Dependence of Dual Emission Peak on Hybrid Organic Lead-Iodide Perovskite Films at Low Temperatures

In this work, we have investigated the crystalline-size dependence of optical absorption and photoluminescence emission of CH3NH3PbI3 films, which is necessary to identify the potential practical applications of the gadgets based on perovskite films. This study was carried out at low temperatures to minimize the extra complexity induced by thermal effects. The purpose was to clarify the origin of the dual emission peak previously reported in the literature.
