Modeling ontologies for robotic environments

On the basis of a multiple abstraction levels specification process, we developed a representational model for environmental robotic knowledge through the definition of a set of ontologies using a multi perspective approach. A general ontological model for typical indoor environments has been first developed, followed by its specialization using an implementation perspective. Actual software implementation of the ontology has been obtained via a XML-based markup language, used to build a repository for robotic environmental knowledge. Copyright 2002 ACM.
Rilkean Memories and the Self of a Robot

This paper discusses the concept of Rilkean memories, recently introduced by Mark Rowlands, to analyze the complex intermix of hardware and software related to the self of a robot. The Rilkean memory of an event is related to the trace of that episode left in the body of the individual. It transforms the act of remembering into behavioral and bodily dispositions, thus generating the peculiar behavioral style of the individual, which is at the basis of her autobiographical self. Fondata alla fine del V sec. a.C. dai Cartaginesi, Thermae Himeraeae divenne colonia romana alla fine del I sec. a.C. e fu dotata degli edifici tipici di una città romana: foro, anfiteatro, acquedotto e bagni. Questi ultimi furono costruiti ai piedi della collina su cui sorge la città, sfruttando due sorgenti termali. Note fin dal XVI secolo, le terme furono studiate da Houel e Palmeri, ma solo nel 1817 il Gargotta condusse uno scavo nella piazza antistante, affermando che l’area centrale dell’edificio antico era occupata da una vasca circolare di ampie dimensioni. Rowing is a sport discipline, which requires extreme physical strength and endurance and appropriate aerobic and anaerobic capacity as well. However, when the workout intensity and load is very high, exercise is associated with temporary changes in cellular metabolism and the immune system. The study included one male rower aged 28 years – the highly-skilled and experienced athlete. We determined basic cardiorespiratory fitness measures, complete blood count, and 24 clinical chemistry parameters including relevant biochemical and haematological parameters and matrix metaloproteinases activities. Poczucie jakości życia a rozbieżność w systemie „ja”– różnice między studentami kierunków społecznych i technicznych

Głównym celem badań jest ustalenie predyktorów osobowościowych odnoszących się do nowego modelu poczucia jakości życia w zróżnicowanej grupie studentów. Badania oparto na teorii rozbieżności w systemie „ja” E. T. Higginsa oraz Modelu Osobowościowo-Aksjologicznym B. Mróz. Metoda. Przebadano 64 studentów pedagogiki i 62 studentów elektrotechniki. W badaniach zastosowano Test Przymiotnikowy ACL, Zmodyfikowany Kwestionariusz Poczucia Jakości Życia oraz wywiad i obserwację. Wyniki. Osoby z niską rozbieżnością w systemie „ja” osiągały znacząco wyższe wyniki w Kompetencjach, Relacjach i Autonomii, będącej elementami Modelu Osobowościowo-Aksjologicznego.
