Tin compounds interaction with membranes of egg lecithin liposomes.

This work is a continuation of earlier research concerning the influence of tin compounds on the dynamic properties of liposome membranes produced with lecithin hen egg yolks (EYL). The experiments were carried out at room temperature (about 25 ∞C). Four tin compounds were chosen, including three organic ones, (CH3)4Sn, (C2H5)4Sn and (C3H7)3SnCl, and one inorganic, SnCl2. The investigated compounds were admixed to water dispersions of liposomes. The content of the admixture changed within the range 0 mol-% to 11mol-% in proportion to EYL. Bimodal Effect of Amphiphilic Biocide Concentrations on Fluidity of Lipid Membranes

Abstract Using the spin label method (ESR) it has been shown that biologically active, amphiphilic compounds (quaternary ammonium salts -AS) containing polar heads with single and double positive charge caused, at low concentrations, decrease fluidity of liposome membranes formed with egg yolk lecithin (EYL). At higher concentrations an increase in fluidity was observed. With compounds having a single positive charge minimum fluidity of membrane structure occurs in the range of 1 to 3%, with compounds containing double positive charge -in the range of 4 -6 % . Climate Change Mitigation Potentials of Carbon Labels in the Aviation Industry

This chapter discusses the climate change mitigation potentials of carbon labels in the aviation industry. As this study shows, there are significant differences in the environmental performance of individual flights, even when operated on the same route or by the same airline. Selecting one flight over another can significantly reduce the carbon dioxide emissions of a single air passenger. Nevertheless, the currently available measures, such as carbon calculators, are not capable of presenting these differences, leaving air passengers with no means of comparing individual flights. The influence of ecolabels and environmental information on fishery and aquaculture consumption

This paper investigates whether the exhibition of sustainable information (i.e., eco-labeling) influence the consumption of fishery and aquaculture products. Using data from the Eurobarometer survey (ebs-95.1) we explore the consumers’ environmental attitudes by tracking the trend in consumption of seafood products before/after the pandemic situation, with a focus on the products showing ecolabels.

The present study compared the impact of two different label styles of tobacco product warnings (textual and pictorial) among adolescents in a new standardized way, using the Adolescent Label Impact Index (ALII). Šī darba mērķis ir izpētīt lietojuma norādes piecās vadošajās angļu valodas mācību vārdnīcās, lai noskaidrotu, vai vārdnīcas izmanto konsekventu pieeju attiecībā uz lietojuma norāžu izmantošanu. Pētījumā tiek izmantota aprakstošā un salīdzinošā satura analīzes metode. Pētījuma ietvaros arī tika veikta aptauja, lai uzzinātu, kāda ir lietotāju attieksme pret lietojuma norāžu atspoguļojumu vārdnīcās un cik lielā mērā tās ir noderīgas lietotājiem.
