Pyrrolo[2,3-h]quinolinones: A new ring system with potent photoantiproliferative activity

A new class of compounds, the pyrrolo[2,3-h]quinolin-2-ones, nitrogen isosters of the angular furocoumarin Angelicin, was synthesized with the aim of obtaining new photochemotherapeutic agents with increased antiproliferative activity and lower undesired toxic effects than the lead compound. Two synthetic pathways were approached to allow the isolation both of the dihydroderivatives 10-17 and of the aromatic ring system 23. Compounds 10-17 showed a remarkable phototoxicity and a great UVA dose dependence reaching IC(50) values at submicromolar level. EPPS16 - First nuclear PDFs to include LHC data

We present results of our recent EPPS16 global analysis of NLO nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs). For the first time, dijet and heavy gauge boson production data from LHC proton-lead collisions have been included in a global fit. Especially, the CMS dijets play an important role in constraining the nuclear effects in gluon distributions. With the inclusion of also neutrino-nucleus deeply-inelastic scattering and pion-nucleus Drell-Yan data and a proper treatment of isospin-corrected data, we were able to free the flavor dependence of the valence and sea quark nuclear modifications for the first time. As many academics have pointed out, while researchers have learned a great deal about the effects of contingent reward (CR) leader behaviour, relatively little is known about its genesis. CR transactional leadership is traditionally viewed as an independent variable which exerts influence downstream. AbstractWe study the impact of improved road standards on housing prices in a region of Southern Norway, where towns are located along the coast, like pearls on a string, with sparsely populated areas between the towns. In this region towns have since long been linked together by a road, but in 2009 a new highway, roughly parallel to the old road, was opened. The new highway runs Eastwards from the main town in the region and reduced one-way commutes to the main town by 10–15 min. We examine how this change in transportation infrastructure has affected housing prices, using difference-in-difference regressions to identify the impact of the new highway.
