Evaluation of the Effects of a Bullying at Work Intervention for Middle Managers.
2020
The aim of the study is to evaluate the effects of a workplace bullying intervention based on the training of middle managers regarding bullying awareness, the consequences of bullying, strategies in conflict resolution and mediation/negotiation abilities. Overall, 142 randomly selected middle managers participated in the study. First, participants completed an information record and two scales assessing bullying strategies, role conflict and role ambiguity. The last two scales were completed again in a second phase three months after the intervention had finished. The intervention produced a decrease in the following bullying strategies: effects on self-expression and communication, effect…
Workplace bullying, burnout and resilience amongst perioperative nurses in Australia: A descriptive correlational study.
2021
AIM This study aimed to investigate workplace bullying and explore correlations between bullying, burnout and resilience amongst perioperative nurses in Australia. BACKGROUND Workplace bullying in perioperative nursing involves verbal, physical and psychological violence. However, no prior studies have measured Australian perioperative nurses' experiences of workplace bullying nor sought to understand if there is a relationship with burnout and resilience. METHODS A descriptive correlational study was conducted utilizing an online survey incorporating four validated instruments. Descriptive statistics and regression models analysed workplace bullying, burnout and resilience. RESULTS Over ha…
Parental and Familial Factors Influencing Physical Activity Levels in Early Adolescence: A Prospective Study
2020
Parental/familial factors are important determinants of the physical activity level (PAL) in children and adolescents, but studies rarely prospectively evaluate their relationships. This study aimed to evaluate the changes in physical activity levels among adolescents from Bosnia and Herzegovina over a two-year period and to determine parental/familial predictors of PAL in early adolescence. A total of 651 participants (50.3% females) were tested at baseline (beginning of high school education
Automatic detection of P, QRS and T patterns in 12 leads ECG signal based on CWT
2016
International audience; In this paper, a new method based on the continuous wavelet transform is described in order to detect the QRS, P and T waves. QRS, P and T waves may be distinguished from noise, baseline drift or irregular heartbeats. The algorithm, described in this paper, has been evaluated using the Computers in Cardiology (CinC) Challenge 2011 database and also applied on the MIT-BIH Arrhythmia database (MITDB). The data from the CinC Challenge 2011 are standard 12 ECG leads recordings with full diagnostic bandwidth compared to the MITDB which only includes two leads for each ECG signal. Firstly, our algorithm is validated using fifty 12 leads ECG samples from the CinC collection…
Modeling lead input and output in soils using lead isotopic geochemistry
2004
The aim of this study is to model downward migration of lead from the plow layer of an experimental site located in Versailles (about 15 km southwest of Paris, France). Since 1928, samples have been collected annually from the topsoil of three control plots maintained in bare fallow. Thirty samples from 10 different years were analyzed for their lead and scandium contents and lead isotopic compositions. The fluxes are simple because of the well-controlled experimental conditions in Versailles: only one output flux, described as a first-order differential function of the anthropogenic lead pool, was taken into account; the inputs were exclusively ascribed to atmospheric deposition. The combi…
A case study on the formation and evolution of ice supersaturation in the vicinity of a warm conveyor belt\'s outflow region
2005
A case study is presented on the formation and evolution of an ice-supersaturated region (ISSR) that was detected by a radiosonde in NE Germany at 06:00 UTC 29 November 2000. The ISSR was situated in the vicinity of the outflow region of a warm conveyor belt associated with an intense event of cyclogenesis in the eastern North Atlantic. Using ECMWF analyses and trajectory calculations it is determined when the air parcels became supersaturated and later subsaturated again. In the case considered, the state of air parcel supersaturation can last for longer than 24h. The ISSR was unusually thick: while the mean vertical extension of ISSRs in NE Germany is about 500m, the one investigated here…
Das Bleigewicht aus dem Hofareal der Fürstin von Vix
2021
International audience; The Lead Weight from the Courtyard of the Lady of VixThe Mont Lassois near Vix, Dép. Côte d’Or, as well as the Heuneburg, counts as one of the best researched princelyseats in the early Celtic western Hallstatt zone. In 1953 the late Hallstatt grave of Vix was discovered. The old excavations(1930-1974) have been reactivated by the German-French research project »Celtic Princely Seats West of theRhine« (1991-1997) and the French PCR-project (Projet collectif de recherche) »Vix and its Environment« (since 2002)with the participation of the universities of Dijon, Kiel, Vienna and Zurich. During the investigation of the late Hallstattcourtyard of the Lady of Vix on the h…
Raw material procurement and selection in Southeast Iberia’s early metallurgy
2020
The role of metallurgy in the Copper Age communities of the Iberian Southeast is a recurrent question of archaeological research in western Europe. Based on lead isotope and trace element analyses of archaeometallurgical remains, this paper addresses the territorial organisation of metallurgical production during the Copper Age (3100-2200 cal BC) in the Vera Basin (Almería, Spain), the region with the earliest metallurgical evidence in western Europe. This paper comprises the study of materials from the three main settlements with metallurgical activity in the area (Las Pilas, Santa Bárbara and Almizaraque), as well as some metal objects from these and other sites (La Encantada I, Loma…
The mutations of the Liberal-Liberal-Democrat Party to (re)conquer power.
2019
This research work is devoted to the study of the Liberal/Liberal-Democrat Party and the organizational changes that its successive leaders implemented between 1976 and 2015 to (re)conquer power. David Steel, Paddy Ashdown, Charles Kennedy and Nick Clegg somehow reclaimed the legacy of Jo Grimond, who had devised the strategy of the realignment of the left in the 1950s to manage its relationships with the Conservative and Labour Parties and become a government party. Each of them gave their own version of this strategy to adapt to a changing environment with a party system that was no longer a solid two-party system. The successive organizational mutations (professionalization, a change in t…
