Zilo gaismu bloķējošo lēcu ietekme uz kontrastjutību

Bakalaura darbs ir 21 lappaspusi garš, satur 9. attēlus, 1. tabulu un 39. literatūras atsauces. Darba mērķis ir novērtēt zilo gaismu bloķējošo lēcu ietekmi uz kontrastjutību. Mērījumi tika veikti, izmantojot Pelli-Robsona testu, kurš tika rādīts iPad telefonā. Mērījumā piedalījās 55 dalībnieki. Mērījumi tika veikti ar briļļu lēcām, kurām bija zilo gaismu bloķējošais klājums, kā arī ar lēcām, kurām bija tradicionālais pretatspīdumu klājums. Kontrastjutība bija labāka ar zilo gaismu bloķējošām lēcām nekā ar lēcām, kurām bija tradicionālais pretatspīdumu klājums (p<0.001). Development of methods for the detection and quantification of spoilage microorganisms in wine : study of growing factors

New practices used to elaborate wine lead to an increase of wine spoilage due to microorganisms. That is why, new technics have to be developed to quantify these microorganisms accurately, quickly and with low costs. The main wine spoilages are due to acetic acid bacteria (AAB) (A. aceti, A. pasteurianus, G. oxydans and Ga. liquefaciens) and Brettanomyces bruxellensis development. AAB transforms ethanol to acetic acid while B. bruxellensis transforms hydroxycinnamic acids to ethyl phenols (EP) (unpleasant odor molecules). Pharmacological properties of the methanol extract from Mentha suaveolens Ehrh.

The present study analyses the pharmacological activity in in vivo and in vitro models of the methanol extract obtained from the leaves and steams of Menta suaveolens Ehrh. This extract lacked toxicity, but exhibited a central nervous system depressant action; an analgesic effect in models of chemical and mechanical stimulation suggesting the induction of a peripheral analgesic response. The extract also exhibited an antiinflammatory action inhibiting the rat paw oedema induced by carrageenin. Moreover, the in vitro studies showed a significant diminution in the contractile effects induced by histamine, serotonin and acetylcholine.

Evaluate the efficacy of intravitreal pegaptanib sodium (Macugen®) in refractory pseudophakic cystoid macular oedema (CME). Prospective, nonrandomized, interventional case series. Four eyes of four patients with refractory pseudophakic CME to pars plana vitrectomy and intravitreal bevacizumab and triamcinolone, were treated with pegaptanib sodium, with a mean follow up of 4 months. Pre- and postinfection examinations included assessment of best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) using the Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study chart (ETDRS), fluorescein angiography (FA), and optical coherence tomography (OCT). The impact of dark matter-neutrino interactions on the measurement of the cosmological parameters has been investigated in the past in the context of massless neutrinos exclusively. Here we revisit the role of a neutrino-dark matter coupling in light of ongoing cosmological tensions by implementing the full Boltzmann hierarchy for three massive neutrinos. Our tightest 95% CL upper limit on the strength of the interactions, parameterized via $u_\chi =\frac{\sigma_0}{\sigma_{Th}}\left(\frac{m_\chi}{100 \text{GeV}}\right)^{-1}$, is $u_\chi\leq3.34 \cdot 10^{-4}$, arising from a combination of Planck TTTEEE data, Planck lensing data and SDSS BAO data. Posterior chamber phakic intraocular lenses to improve visual outcomes in keratoconus patients

The aim of this review is to summarize the results of using posterior chamber phakic intraocular lenses (pIOLs) to restore quality of vision in keratoconus patients. These pIOLs can correct the refractive errors associated with keratoconus and can also be combined with other surgical techniques to improve the results.
Modulation transfer function: Rigid versus foldable phakic intraocular lenses

Purpose To study in a standard eye model the changes in modulation transfer function (MTF) of a monofocal intraocular lens (IOL) when a phakic IOL (pIOL) is placed in the anterior chamber, compare the MTFs of the rigid Artisan pIOL and foldable Artiflex pIOL, and evaluate the temporal evolution of the MTF of the foldable pIOL after the mechanical stress the pIOL undergoes when injected.
