This article discusses how students can be more integrated in developing library instruction and what advantages that can provide for librarians planning their teaching. The students seem to have a different starting point as to how important the librarians’ knowledge of the subject at hand is and whether or not library instruction should be an integrated part of the course.

The collection of archive materials concerning the creation of the Opole voivodeship administrative and party authorities in 1950 consists of fragments of documents from the network of PZPR voivodeship committees in Katowice, Opole and Wroclaw and also records from the Presidium of the Voivodeship National Council in Opole. The study examines the status of a private docent, the academic position which was introduced across the world in the 18th century and which also existed in Latvia from the second half of the 19th century until the end of World War II. The status of the private docent as it used to be understood in Latvia is compared with other countries, mainly considering German-type universities. Este artículo introduce la experiencia docente que se ha llevado a cabo durante el curso académico 2008/09 con la introducción de un foro virtual como herramienta de enseñanza y aprendizaje en la asignatura de Informática II en la Diplomatura de Biblioteconomía y Documentación de la Universitat de València. Para analizar la experiencia se realiza un estudio cuantitativo sobre de la utilización del foro y del tipo de participaciones. Así mismo se valora la opinión de los alumnos sobre el foro como herramienta de trabajo para el aprendizaje.
