Insights into Finnish first-year pre-service teachers’ twenty-first century skills

This study focuses on Finnish pre-service teachers’ perceptions of their twenty-first century skills, especially their learning strategies, collaboration and teamwork, as well as knowledge and attitudes related to ICT in education. The target group consist of 263 first-year pre-service teachers from three universities. The results outline how pre-service teachers perceive their twenty-first century skills, the relationships between different areas of these skills, and the differences among pre-service teachers in terms of perceived skills. This article investigates how staff and management in Norwegian academic libraries have experienced the implementation of the new library management system Alma. As a new library management system is introduced, the need for learning on demand emerges. An anonymous survey was sent to all academic libraries in Norway, resulting in a total of 626 responses. This article presents the findings from this survey and provides some reflections on how a firm grip on knowledge management could have helped make such a transition easier.

Nous décrivons la genèse du dispositif ainsi que les bénéfices attendus en termes d'agrément d'usage et d'accélération des recherches d'information dans certains contextes (retrouver une page qui a déjà été consultée par exemple). The concept of paratext appears to be useful to try to describe the structure of a complex Web page. This article will firstly tackle the meaning attributed to this concept by Gérard Genette. Secondly, by trying to spot and to name whatever is likely to appear simultaneously on the screen upon the display of a written document extracted from the Web, it will Webwise redefine the two components of the paratext, namely the epitext and the peritext. Their functions, their feasible meanings and their effects will then be analysed.
