Analysis of compressor architectures in MOS current-mode logic

This paper is concerned with the design and the comparison of different compressor architectures for high performance multipliers in MOS current-mode logic (MCML). More specifically, three architectures have been designed for 3-2, 4-2 and 5-2 compressors and two architectures for 7-2 compressors. The various implementations for each type of compressor have been compared one another. This investigation indicates that the architectures based exclusively on three-level MCML gates are the most suitable for MCML implementation in terms of speed, power consumption and area. Active power analog front-end based on a Wheatstone-type magnetoresistive sensor

Abstract In the proposed work a practical magnetoresistive wattmeter based on a commercial sensor is designed to measure active power at industrial frequencies. The electronic conditioning circuit uses differential blocks in order to preserve the sensor initial common mode rejection ratio. A 700 W power level has been reached with an uncertainty less than 1%. With few changes the proposed circuitry could be used in metering applications.

Functional near‐infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) systems for e‐health applications usually suffer from poor signal detection, mainly due to a low end‐to‐end signal‐to‐noise ratio of the electronics chain. NEXT-100 experiment aims at searching the neutrinoless double-beta decay of the Xe-136 isotope using a TPC filled with a 100 kg of high-pressure gaseous xenon, with 90% isotopic enrichment. The experiment will take place at the Laboratorio Subterraneo de Canfranc (LSC), Spain. NEXT-100 uses electroluminescence (EL) technology for energy measurement with a resolution better than 1% FWHM. The gaseous xenon in the TPC additionally allows the tracks of the two beta particles to be recorded, which are expected to have a length of up to 30 cm at 10 bar pressure. Abstract An artificial data matrix of element concentrations at sampling locations was created which included six simulated gradients of correlated variables (Ca+Mg, Ni+V, Pb+Cu+Zn, Cd, Fe and K), representing a simplified model of a National survey. The data matrix model was used to explore the efficiency with which Principal Components Analysis (PCA), without and with Varimax rotation, could derive the imposed gradients. The dependence of PCA on outliers was decreased by log-transformation of data. The estimation of the fundamental matrix from a set of corresponding points is a relevant topic in epipolar stereo geometry [10]. Due to the high amount of outliers between the matches, RANSAC-based approaches [7, 13, 29] have been used to obtain the fundamental matrix. This study examines the habits of playing and the reasons for not playing digital exercise games (i.e., exergames), concentrating particularly on the gender differences between the male and female players and non-players. Exergames can be considered an important and interesting research topic as they can be used to motivate people to do more exercise and, consequently, to improve their health and well-being.
