Modeling and Characterization of SiPM Parameters at Temperatures between 95 K and 300 K

2017

The modeling and characterization of silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs) in a wide temperature range from 95 K to 300 K is presented. The devices under study had the distinctive feature of forward-biased p-n junctions situated under each pixel as active quenching resistors making them particularly appropriate to be operated at cryogenic temperatures. The voltage drop across the diode in a forward direction was measured for a series of injected currents in this temperature range. It was observed that the characteristics of different SiPM types influence the temperature dependence of the reverse saturation current. The devices were further characterized by low-level light-pulse measurements. The…

On the operation of silicon photomultipliers at temperatures of 1–4 kelvin

2016

Abstract SiPM operation at cryogenic temperatures fails for many common devices. A particular type from Zecotek with deep channels in the silicon substrate instead of quenching resistors was tested at liquid helium temperature. Two similar types were thoroughly characterized from room temperature down to liquid nitrogen temperature by illuminating them with low light levels. At cryogenic temperatures the SiPMs show an unchanged rise-time and a fast recovery time, practically no after-pulses, and exhibit no increased cross-talk probability. Charge collection spectra were measured to extract the pixel gain and its variation, both comparable to room temperature at the same over-voltage. The qu…

Applications and numerical convergence of the partial inverse method

2006

In 1983, J.E. Spingarn introduced what he called the Partial Inverse Method in the framework of Mathematical Programming. Since his initial articles, numerous applications have been given in various fields including Lagrangian multipliers methods, location theory, convex feasibility problems, analysis of data, economic equilibrium problems. In a first part of this paper we give a survey of these applications. Then by means of optimization problems relevant to location theory such as single and multifacility minimisum or minimax location problems, we examine the main advantages of the algorithm and we point out its drawbacks mainly concerning the rate of convergence. We study how different p…

Quitter sa région pour entrer à l'université

2006

This paper aims at understanding the regional mobility of new entrants to university. The regionalmobility is marginal. But, the impact of social and academic characteristics shows that selfselection processes exist. The combine effects of fields and regions impacts highlight the role ofavailability of university program on student choice.

An automatic filtering algorithm for SURF-based registration of remote sensing images

2017

International audience; The registration of remote sensing images has been often a necessary step for further analyses of images taken at different times, different viewing geometry or with different sensors. For this task there exists many approaches. This paper focuses on the feature-based category of image registration methods. Particularly, we propose an improvement of the SURF algorithm on the point matching step. Indeed, in order to achieve a correct registration, a good matching of feature point is required. However The presence of outliers lead to a fail in the registration. Therefore, in this paper, we introduce an efficient method devoted to the detection and removal of such outli…

Two optimizing procedures for the solution of complex systems of equations: a powerful tool for modelling and simulation of metabolism

2000

Introduction Standard calculations for the evaluation of indirect calorimetry (IC) are based on two-dimensional nonlinear systems of equations. For a more sophisticated evaluation metabolic models can be used, which are described by complex systems of equations. Since the solutions are multidimensional, a concrete result must be selected by means of constraints, using optimizing procedures. These multidimensional optimizations are critical concerning processing time and reproducibility of minimum detection. Methods In order to simulate the status of metabolism of ICU patients on the basis of IC data, a complex model of metabolism was developed. The model was described by a system of equatio…

Lo studio Basile. Crocevia di arti e mestieri.

2013

2006

Rotaviruses (RV) are the most common etiological agents in acute gastroenteritis (GE) in children in the first years of life. Data from the national scientific literature show that RV is responsible of 26% of all cases of hospitalisation for diarrea in children, resulting the most frequently identified agent. The Italian database of hospital discharge, freely available from the web site of the national Ministry of Health, was searched to investigate the epidemiology of RV gastroenteritis. The mean number of hospitalisation for RV enteritis in children in the first 4 years of live was 4.758 in the years 2001, 2002 and 2003, representing 84% of viral enteritis. RV was identified as agent in 1…

Les vies étudiantes : tendances et inégalités

2016

Partitionability, coverability and colorability in graphs

2014

Our research are about graph coloring with distance constraints (packing coloring) or neighborhood constraints (Grundy coloring). Let S={si| i in N*} be a non decreasing sequence of integers. An S-packing coloring is a proper coloring such that every set of color i is an si-packing (a set of vertices at pairwise distance greater than si). A graph G is (s1,... ,sk)-colorable if there exists a packing coloring of G with colors 1,... ,k. A Grundy coloring is a proper vertex coloring such that for every vertex of color i, u is adjacent to a vertex of color j, for each ji. These results allow us to determine S-packing coloring of these lattices for several sequences of integers. We examine a cla…
