On-line gel permeation chromatography–attenuated total reflectance–Fourier transform infrared determination of lecithin and soybean oil in dietary su…
2007
Gel permeation chromatography (GPC) with attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectrometry detection has been proposed for the simultaneous determination of lecithin and soybean oil in dietary supplements. The method involves the extraction of analytes with dichloromethane in an ultrasound water bath and the injection of 2 ml of centrifuged and filtered extracts into the system integrated by two Envirogel GPC columns (19 mm x150 mm, 19 mm x 300 mm) coupled on-line. Dichloromethane was used as mobile phase. A method has been developed to select the most appropriated wavenumber to be used for the determination of each considered compound from the calculation of a…
Electrochemical detection of dopamine with negligible interference from ascorbic and uric acid by means of reduced graphene oxide and metals-NPs base…
2021
Abstract Dopamine is an important neurotransmitter involved in many human biological processes as well as in different neurodegenerative diseases. Monitoring the concentration of dopamine in biological fluids, i.e., blood and urine is an effective way of accelerating the early diagnosis of these types of diseases. Electrochemical sensors are an ideal choice for real-time screening of dopamine as they can achieve fast, portable inexpensive and accurate measurements. In this work, we present electrochemical dopamine sensors based on reduced graphene oxide coupled with Au or Pt nanoparticles. Sensors were developed by co-electrodeposition onto a flexible substrate, and a systematic investigati…
Fluorometric determination of diphenhydramine by flow-injection analysis
1992
A sensitive, rapid and simple flow injection procedure for the determination of diphenhydramine has been designed based on a fluorometric approach. An aqueous solution of diphenhydramine is injected into a carrierreagent stream containing Ce(IV) in dilute sulphuric acid and the fluorescence intensity of the Ce(III) produced is monitored. Chemical, FIA and instrumental variables were optimized. Analytical features of the method are: linear range 0.2–2 ppm, precision 0.7%, sample throughput 80/h. The influence of some foreign substances which can be found in typical pharmaceutical samples containing diphenhydramine was also investigated. The diphenhydramine content of a pharmaceutical prepara…
Correction of Matrix Effect in Multielemental Quantitative Analysis by X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy Using the Linear Behavior in the Analytical Ra…
2002
This paper is an analytical study of the possibility of applying the linear range of the substitution-dilution method to correct the matrix effect in quantitative analysis by X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectroscopy. The analytical range is obtained from a series of samples prepared in the form of glass discs by substituting the unknown sample with a standard sample (substitution factor, h) including a diluent-melt. In general, the substitution-dilution method is hyperbolic in character and therefore the diluent is required to ensure linear behavior between If vs. h in the experimental range. The linear range is located between the concentrations of standard and unknown for each element analy…
Highly selective detection of Epinephrine at oxidized Single-Wall Carbon Nanohorns modified Screen Printed Electrodes (SPEs)
2014
Oxidized Single-Wall Carbon Nanohorns (o-SWCNHs) were used, for the first time, to assemble chemically modified Screen Printed Electrodes (SPEs) selective towards the electrochemical detection of Epinephrine (Ep), in the presence of Serotonine-5-HT (S-5HT), Dopamine (DA), Nor-Epineprhine (Nor-Ep), Ascorbic Acid (AA), Acetaminophen (Ac) and Uric Acid (UA). The Ep neurotransmitter was detected by using Differential Pulse Voltammetry (DPV), in a wide linear range of concentration (2-2500 μM) with high sensitivity (55.77 A M(-1) cm(-2)), very good reproducibility (RSD% ranging from 2 to 10 for different SPEs), short response time for each measurement (only 2s) and low detection of limit (LOD=0.…
MgO Magnetic Tunnel Junction Electrical Current Sensor With Integrated Ru Thermal Sensor
2013
Full Wheatstone bridge electrical current sensor incorporating 114 MgO-based magnetic tunnel junction elements (3 × 30 μm2) connected in series was produced for improved electrical robustness. To that end, magnetic tunnel junctions with R × A ~7 KΩ μm2 tunneling magnetoresistance of 200%, were produced. The sensor was designed with an integrated Ru thin film resistive thermal detector (RTD) for temperature drift monitoring and compensation. In order to achieve a full bridge signal, a U-shaped copper trace was placed under a printed circuit board (PCB) specifically designed for this type of device. The resulting device exhibit sensitivities of 63.9 V/Oe/A in a 75 Oe linear range biased with …
Reduced graphene oxide-based magnetic composite for trace determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in cosmetics by stir bar sorptive dispers…
2020
This work describes a sensitive and rapid analytical method for trace determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in cosmetic samples. The proposed method is based on stir bar sorptive-dispersive microextraction (SBSDME). A magnetic composite made of CoFe2O4 magnetic nanoparticles embedded into reduced graphene oxide sheets is used as sorbent phase. After the extraction, the target analytes are desorbed in toluene and then analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The main parameters involved in the extraction procedure (i.e., composite amount, extraction time and desorption time) were evaluated and optimized to provide the best extraction efficiency. The method…
Electrical Characterization of a Magnetic Tunnel Junction Current Sensor for Industrial Applications
2012
The objective of the work was the design of a Wheatstone bridge current sensor using MTJ as magnetoresistive elements. Each one of the four resistances of the bridge consists on 360 MTJ single elements connected in series for improved electrical robustness. A printed circuit board (PCB) was designed with a U-shaped copper trace placed under the PCB maintaining a 1.1 mm separation distance between sensor and trace. A 160% of tunnel magnetoresistance effect in the single junction and a 120% in its corresponding series elements connection has been achieved with a sensitivity of 9.2 Ω/Oe in a 65 Oe linear range. The DC sensor sensitivity in response to an external DC current sweeps of ±10, ±20,…
Microwave-assisted distillation of iodine for the indirect atomic absorption spectrometric determination of iodide in milk samples
2001
To complete these microwave distillation studies, a method for iodide determination in milk-type samples is proposed. The iodide contained in the sample is oxidized to iodine, which is distilled by means of microwave energy and reduced back to iodide. This iodide is combined with Hg(II) and 2,2′-dipyridyl to give an ion pair, which is selectively extracted into IBMK. Mercury is determined in the extract by ETAAS in order to determine iodide. The yield of the distillation process (100%) was evaluated using the Sandell–Kolthoff reaction. In addition, for the solvent extraction, no buffer was needed; 3/5 was the best phase ratio (organic/aqueous); 30 s was the shaking time and the extracts wer…
Odorant-binding protein-based optoelectronic tongue and nose for sensing volatile organic compounds
2019
International audience; We developed an array of odorant-binding protein mutants with various binding properties. The same design is suitable for the detection and identification of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) both in the liquid phase and in the gas phase by surface plasmon resonance imaging. The obtained optoelectronic tongue is highly selective at low concentrations of VOCs with a low detection limit, but a narrow linear range. In comparison, the optoelectronic nose gives a much higher signal to noise ratio, but the discrimination of VOCs from different chemical classes requires kinetic data to get rid of non-specific signals. This work shows that these optoelectronic tongue and nos…
