Maģistra darba nosaukums ir Medijpratības līmeņa un tā ietekmējošo faktoru noteikšana Latvijas studentu vidū. Maģistra darba mērķis ir noteikt medijpratības līmeni Latvijas studentu vidū kā arī noteikt faktorus, kas to ietekmē. AbstractThe majority of previous research on academic skills, self-concept of ability and interest has deployed the variable-oriented approach and focused on self-concept, or ability, or interest only. This study examined the patterns and dynamics of pattern change in Finnish children’s word reading skill, self-concept of ability and interest from kindergarten to Grade 2. Straipsnyje nagrinėjamos 2-os klasės mokinių ir jų tėvų įsitikinimų apie lietuvių kalbos mokymąsi sąsajos su mokinių pasiekimais. Nustatyta, kad mokinių įsitikinimai apie savo gebėjimus, susidomėjimas lietuvių kalba, tėvų lūkesčiai bei 2-os klasės pasiekimai tarpusavyje siejasi teigiamais ryšiais. Kontroliuojant vaiko lytį, tėvų išsilavinimą bei 1-os klasės pasiekimus, geresnius pasiekimus 2-oje klasėje prognozuoja aukštesni tėvų lūkesčiai ir geresni vaikų savų gebėjimų vertinimai. Literacy practices in two Danish-Somali families : Between training, testing and “feeding the soul”

This article explores the literacy practices in two Danish-Somali families with young children. The data comes from focused ethnographic fieldwork in the families. The study is rooted in a sociocultural view of literacy, aiming at understanding how different ways of engaging with language and the written word express different beliefs and values about literacy. The study finds that school-oriented literacy training and literacy tests as well as religious practices play important roles in the everyday lives of the families. Using the concept of onomastic literacy as an analytical tool : A methodological examination of the names of European royal families

Onomastic literacy (the skills needed to interpret the cultural and social phenomena and meanings related to name-giving) are part of a person’s cultural capital. I use this concept, which I have developed, to study personal names in family networks and in royal families in particular. This research combines the approaches and methodologies of collective biography, microhistory and the history of mentalities. This article is based on an extensive research project (Towards Future Literacy Pedagogies, ToLP1 ) that deals with the literacy practices of Finnish and immigrant pupils, mother tongue (MT) and foreign language (FL) teachers. The overall aim of the project is to explore and interpret literacy practices both in school and out-of-school contexts by employing large-scale quantitative research approaches as well as qualitative classroom observations and teacher and pupil interviews. Iemācīt pirmskolas vecuma bērniem lasītprasmi un rakstītprasmi ir svarīgs izaicinājums ikvienam skolotājam. New migration processes and new frontiers for linguistic research

Recent migrations show unprecedented characteristics in terms of migratory routes, individual profiles of migrants and condition of isolation in arrival contexts. Combining sociolinguistic and linguistic perspectives, the article reconstructs the forms of linguistic contact between local and migrant populations in one of the main gateways to Europe, Palermo (Italy), and the specific conditions of local language acquisition by newcomers.
