A bibliometric review of sukuk literature
2023
Abstract Sukuk (Islamic bonds) are one of the Islamic finance sectors that have experienced the fastest growth during the last decade. Using a quali-quantitative approach known as meta-literature review, the aim of this paper is to survey the sukuk literature over the period 1950–2018. In total we review and analyze 80 papers through bibliometric citation analysis (using HistCite and VOSviewer software) coupled with content analysis. We show the influential aspects of the literature, such as countries, institutions, journals, authors, articles and topics. We also present the co-authorship network and identify three research streams: (1) sukuk overview and growth, (2) sukuk and finance theor…
Descriptive literature review of the added value of virtual realities in vocational education and training
2020
Tarkastelemme tässä katsaus artikkelissa virtuaalitodellisuusteknologian (VR) hyödyntämistä ammattikasvatuksen kentällä viimeisen kymmenen vuoden aikana. Tavoitteenamme on selvittää, minkälaista empiiristä tutkimusta aiheesta on tehty ja minkälaista lisäarvoa VR tuottaa ammattikasvatukselle 13 tutkimusartikkelin perusteella. Tulosten perusteella tutkimus VR:n hyödyntämisestä ammattikasvatuksessa on yhtäältä lisääntynyt, mutta toisaalta empiirisiä tuloksia on vielä suhteellisen vähän. Tutkimus on toistaiseksi keskittynyt käyttökokemuksiin erilaisia VR-sovelluksia hyödynnettäessä. Havaitsemamme lisäarvo liittyy erityisesti reaalimaailman rajoitusten ylittämiseen ja erilaisten oppimisprosessie…
Systematic literature review of E-learning capabilities to enhance organizational learning
2021
AbstractE-learning systems are receiving ever increasing attention in academia, business and public administration. Major crises, like the pandemic, highlight the tremendous importance of the appropriate development of e-learning systems and its adoption and processes in organizations. Managers and employees who need efficient forms of training and learning flow within organizations do not have to gather in one place at the same time or to travel far away to attend courses. Contemporary affordances of e-learning systems allow users to perform different jobs or tasks for training courses according to their own scheduling, as well as to collaborate and share knowledge and experiences that res…
Knowledge management in higher education: a literature review and further research avenues
2020
Despite the growing interest in knowledge management (KM) for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), research on this topic is still fragmented and loosely focused. This paper adds to this research by providing a state-of-the-art of the current literature and outlining overlooked areas of investigation in order to address further studies towards bridging this gap. To this purpose, through a systematic review process, 121 articles have been coded and analysed according to distinct dimensions. Findings reveal that, despite the growing trend of papers on the topic, research on KM in HEIs is still in its embryonic stage with high levels of heterogeneity and lack of wider theoretical constructs. …
Business Intelligence and Analytics in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises: A Systematic Literature Review
2017
Despite much interest in business intelligence and analytics (BI&A), empirical research shows that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are still lagging behind in the proliferation of BI&A. However, there are no studies found on literature reviewing research on BI&A in SMEs. This paper collects, categorizes, synthesizes, and analyzes 62 articles related to BI&A in SMEs. The identified research topics being addressed in BI&A include: BI&A components, BI&A solutions, Mobile BI&A, Cloud BI&A, BI&A application, BI&A adoption, BI&A implementation, and BI&A benefits. Further, research gaps and directions for future research are presented to facilitate the progression of BI&A in SMEs researc…
Organizational Culture Challenges of Adopting Big Data: A Systematic Literature Review
2019
Part 2: Big Data Analytics; International audience; The interest of adopting big data (BD) in organizations has emerged in recent years. Even though many organizations have attempted to adopt BD, the benefits gained by this investment has been limited, and organizations struggle to fully utilize the potential of BD. There has been done several studies on the different challenges and benefits that may occur during the process of adopting and using BD. One major factor that has been discussed in the literature to overcome such challenges has been organizational culture. This paper aims to provide a systematic literature review that reports the organizational culture’s impact on BD adoption th…
QUALITATIVE RESEARCH IN TRAVEL BEHAVIOR STUDIES
2016
Qualitative methodology is extensively used in a wide range of scientific areas, such as Sociology and Psychology, and it is been used to study individual and household decision making processes. However, in the Transportation Planning and Engineering domain it is still infrequent to find in the travel behavior literature studies using qualitative techniques to explore activity-travel decisions. The aim of this paper is first, to provide an overview of the types of qualitative techniques available and to explore how to correctly implement them. Secondly, to highlight the special characteristics of qualitative methods that make them appropriate to study activity-travel decision processes. Fa…
In the literature: February 2017
2017
The hallmark of mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is the t(11;14)(q13,q32) translocation, which leads to the juxtaposition of CCDN1 to the IgH promoter locus, resulting in cyclin D1 overexpression. However, studies from transgenic mouse show that additional secondary genetic events are required for oncogenic transformation. Epigenetic dysregulation is an important mechanism of oncogenesis and tumour progression, but there are only few genome-wide studies of DNA methylome in MCL and mainly focused on promoter regions. In an elegant article published in Cancer Cell , Queiros et al 1 studied the genome-wide methylation profiles of 82 MCL cases using microarray containing approximately 450 000 CPG sit…
On the Literature Divergences of the Humanitarian Supply Chain
2015
International audience; The field of humanitarian logistics has evolved rapidly over the past decade, drawing on contributions from the areas of operations research, business engineering, supply chain management, information systems, and computer sciences. Even more varied are the specific problems that are modeled and addressed, ranging monitoring of the supply chain as a whole to decision support for specific sourcing or distribution decisions. While recently, few studies have presented taxonomies and identified research gaps, there is to this date not yet a clear understanding of how the different methodologies and domains shall be combined to achieve a consistent mix of methods and tool…
