Solubilities of Essential Oil Components of Orange in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide

The solubilities of pure limonene and linalool in compressed carbon dioxide have been measured using a flow apparatus at 318.2 K and 328.2 K and pressures ranging from 69 bar to 111 bar. The solubilities were successfully modeled using equations of state (Peng−Robinson, Soave−Redlich−Kwong, 3P1T, Dohrn and Prausnitz nopolar) and a semiempirical equation (Chrastill model). The generalized parameters for the Peng−Robinson EOS were obtained for each system. These parameters were independent of temperature, and they reproduce successfully all data available in the literature. Hydrodynamics of a three-phase fixed-bed reactor operating in the pulsing flow regime at an elevated pressure

Abstract Results are presented for a three-phase reactor operating at an elevated pressure in the pulsing flow regime. For the system air–water and pressures of 0.1– 0.9 MPa lines are determined that define the change of the hydrodynamic model from the gas continuous flow regime (GCF) to the pulsing flow regime (PF). Also, parameters are found that characterize the pulsing flow of fluids, namely the velocity of pulses travelling along the bed, the frequency of pulsations and their structure, i.e., the length of the pulses and that of the liquid-rich zone.
Calculation of phase diagrams not requiring the derivatives of the Gibbs energy for multinary mixtures

A method for the calculation of phase diagrams (tie lines and binodal, spinodal, critical points and their stability) based exclusively on the Gibbs energy of mixing with no need of its derivatives with respect to the composition variables is extended to multinary mixtures for any number of components. The mathematical description of the (K-1)-dimensional phase diagram of a K-component mixture is presented. The method is demonstrated for a quinternary blend of five polymers exhibiting a closed miscibility gap; all binary, ternary and quaternary subsystems are completely miscible. Abstract Changes of dynamic and structural parameters of egg yolk lecithin (EYL) liposome membranes in the heating-cooling cycles have been studied using the E S R spin probe method. The investigations were conducted in the range of temperatures from -18 °C to +60 °C. It has been found that in the range of temperatures -15 °C to +45 °C in both the heating and the cooling run the spectroscopic parameters changed practically along the same curve (reversible changes). Improving the kinetic couplings in lattice nonrelativistic QCD

We improve the non-relativistic QCD (NRQCD) action by comparing the dispersion relation to that of the continuum through $\mathcal{O}(p^6)$ in perturbation theory. The one-loop matching coefficients of the $\mathcal{O}(p^4)$ kinetic operators are determined, as well as the scale at which to evaluate $\alpha_s$ in the $V$-scheme for each quantity. We utilise automated lattice perturbation theory using twisted boundary conditions as an infrared regulator. The one-loop radiative corrections to the mass renormalisation, zero-point energy and overall energy-shift of an NRQCD $b$-quark are also found. It is therefore important to understand the pattern of information transfer in order to unravel the distributed computational algorithms of a system. Plasma protein loss during abdominal surgery is a known phenomenon, but its possible pathophysiological relevance has remained unknown. The present study evaluates the effects of albumin substitution on systemic and local hemodynamics and cellular interactions in the mesenteric microcirculation. Rats underwent median laparotomy and exteriorization of an ileal loop for intravital microscopy of the mesenteric microcirculation. The compatibility of thermodynamically unstable polymorph of two active pharmaceutical compounds (xylazine hydrochloride form X and zopiclone form C) with different excipients was investigated. The effects of the excipient and its amount in the sample on the thermal properties and possible chemical interactions were studied. Recent experimental discoveries of graphene-stabilized patches of two-dimensional (2D) metals have motivated also their computational studies. However, so far the studies have been restricted to ideal and infinite 2D metallic monolayers, which is insufficient because in reality the properties of such metallic patches are governed by microstructures pervaded by edges, defects, and several types of perturbations. Here we use density-functional theory to calculate edge and vacancy formation energies of hexagonal and square lattices of 45 elemental 2D metals.
