[Et4N][7-Me2S-nido-B11H12]

2003

Tetraethylammonium 7-dimethylsulfanyl-nido-dodecahydroundecaborate, [Et(4)N][7-Me(2)S-nido-B(11)H(12)] or C(8)H(20)N(+).C(2)H(18)B(11)S(-), is a product of the deprotonation of [7-Me(2)S-nido-B(11)H(13)] with KHBEt(3) and precipitation with tetraethylammonium chloride. The effect of removing one endo-terminal H atom is to cause a general contraction of the open-face B-B distances.

Antimykotische Wirkstoffe, Mitt. Chlor-(1-piperazinyl)-1,3,5-triazine

1988

Evolution of Cell Adhesion Systems: Evidence for Arg-Gly-Asp-Mediated Adhesion in the Protozoan Neoparamoeba aestuarina

1995

Developmental processes in multicellular organisms require structural elements, such as adhesion molecules, to stabilize cells at functional positions. In vertebrates, a series of extracellular matrix proteins, e.g. fibronectin and laminin, are involved in cell adhesion. These proteins contain Arg-Gly-Asp [RGD] at their binding sites. Here we show that at concentrations above 2 mM the peptide GRGDSPK, comprising the tripeptide RGD (Arg-Gly-Asp), prevents the adhesiveness of cells of the marine amoeba Neoparamoeba aestuarina. In addition, elevated levels of GRGDSPK cause cells to alter their shapes from those with digitiform subpseudopodia to rounded cells with small lobed pseudopodia. These…

Seeking the Source of Catalytic Efficiency of Lindane Dehydrochlorinase, LinA.

2020

Herein we present the results of an in-depth simulation study of LinA and its two variants. In our analysis, we combined the exploration of protein conformational dynamics with and without bound substrates (hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) isomers) performed using molecular dynamics simulation followed by the extraction of the most frequently visited conformations and their characteristics with a detailed description of the interactions taking place in the active site between the respective HCH molecule and the first shell residues by using symmetry-adapted perturbation theory (SAPT) calculations. A detailed investigation of the conformational space of LinA substates has been accompanied by desc…

Chapter 6 Contribution of NMR Spectroscopy to Flavour Release and Perception

2008

Abstract The control of flavouring of a food product as well as the flavour perception during consumption is a great challenge for improving food quality. However, the various ingredient composition and the different textural properties of foods can significantly affect the release of aroma compounds or sapid molecules. It is thus of major importance to determine physicochemical factors that govern diffusion and binding phenomena of these small solutes in food products. In this way, NMR spectroscopy is an efficient tool to characterize these mechanisms at a molecular scale. Diffusion rates of small solutes in aqueous, viscous and gel solutions can be extracted from relaxation or diffusion N…

Transmission Electron Microscopy of GroEL, GroES, and the Symmetrical GroEL/ES Complex

1994

Two new 2-D crystal forms of the Escherichia coli chaperone GroEL (cpn60) 2 x 7-mer have been produced using the negative staining-carbon film (NS-CF) technique. These 2-D crystals, which contain the cylindrical GroEL in side-on and end-on orientations, both possess p21 symmetry, with two molecules in the respective unit cells. The crystallographically averaged images correlate well with those obtained by other authors from single particle analysis of GroEL and our own previous crystallographic analysis. 2-D crystallization of the smaller chaperone GroES (cpn10) 7-mer has also been achieved using the NS-CF technique. Crystallographically averaged images of GroES single particle images indic…
