Educational research places emphasis on the fact that individuals who have experienced repeated failures may develop an attribution profile characterized by a bias towards primarily external causes. Dynamic and temporal facets of the various constructs that comprise motivation remain to be explored. Here, we adapted the Effort Expenditure for Reward Task, a well-known laboratory task used to evaluate motivation, to study the event-related potentials associated with reward processing. The Stimulus Preceding Negativity (SPN) and the P300 were utilized as motivation indicators with high density electroencephalography. The SPN was found to be more negative for difficult choices compared to easy choices, suggesting a greater level of motivation, at a neurophysiological level. The scientific world is increasingly interested in motivation, primarily due to the suspected impact on decision-making abilities, particularly in uncertain conditions. To explore this plausible relationship, 28 healthy participants were included in the study and performed decision-making and motivational tasks while their neural activity was recorded. International audience; Cet article présente les résultats d'une recherche portant sur l'évaluation du tutorat d'accompagnement mis en place en première année de premier cycle universitaire à l'Université de Bourgogne. Ce dispositif de soutien destiné aux étudiants en difficulté est basé sur les principes du volontariat et du libre accès. Les résultats principaux de cette évaluation font apparaître un effet positif du dispositif, bien que les plus concernés par ces actions de soutien ne soient cependant pas les plus présents ni les plus assidus.
Hidden costs of cuts: austerity, civil service management and the motivation of public officials in Central and Eastern Europe after the crisis

The implementation of austerity measures presents a dilemma for governments. While austerity measures such as cutbacks aim to reduce costs and enhance public sector efficiency, the same measures might undermine the motivation of employees and, consequently, the prospects of effectively implementing austerity programmes. Based on a survey of ministerial officials in Poland and Latvia, this article finds that the scale of cutbacks explains a larger decline of staff motivation in Latvia than in Poland. Pētījuma ietvaros tika veikta profesionālās izglītības iestāžu audzēkņu aptauja, skolotāju un darba devēju intervijas. Pētījumā secināts, ka skolotāji un darba devēji neizprot mācīšanās rezultātu lomu profesionālajā izglītībā.
