2p x-ray absorption spectroscopy of 3d transition metal systems
2021
Abstract This review provides an overview of the different methods and computer codes that are used to interpret 2p x-ray absorption spectra of 3d transition metal ions. We first introduce the basic parameters and give an overview of the methods used. We start with the semi-empirical multiplet codes and compare the different codes that are available. A special chapter is devoted to the user friendly interfaces that have been written on the basis of these codes. Next we discuss the first principle codes based on band structure, including a chapter on Density Functional theory based approaches. We also give an overview of the first-principle multiplet codes that start from a cluster calculati…
One-loop renormalization of Resonance Chiral Theory: scalar and pseudoscalar resonances
2005
We consider the Resonance Chiral Theory with one multiplet of scalar and pseudoscalar resonances, up to bilinear couplings in the resonance fields, and evaluate its beta-function at one-loop with the use of the background field method. Thus we also provide the full set of operators that renormalize the theory at one loop and render it finite.
Form-factors and current correlators: chiral couplingsL10r(μ) andC87r(μ) at NLO in 1/NC
2008
Using the resonance chiral theory Lagrangian, we perform a calculation of the vector and axial-vector two-point functions at the next-to-leading order (NLO) in the 1/N-C expansion. We have analyzed these correlators within the single-resonance approximation and have also investigated the corrections induced by a second multiplet of vector and axial-vector resonance states. Imposing the correct QCD short-distance constraints, one determines the difference of the two correlators Pi(t) equivalent to Pi(VV)(t)-Pi(AA)(t) in terms of the pion decay constant and resonance masses. Its low momentum expansion fixes then the low-energy chiral couplings L 1 0 and C 8 7 at NLO, keeping full control of t…
The Polarised Valence Quark Distribution from semi-inclusive DIS
2007
The semi-inclusive difference asymmetry A^{h^{+}-h^{-}} for hadrons of opposite charge has been measured by the COMPASS experiment at CERN. The data were collected in the years 2002-2004 using a 160 GeV polarised muon beam scattered off a large polarised ^6LiD target and cover the range 0.006 < x < 0.7 and 1 < Q^2 < 100 (GeV/c)^2. In leading order QCD (LO) the asymmetry A_d^{h^{+}-h^{-}} measures the valence quark polarisation and provides an evaluation of the first moment of Delta u_v + Delta d_v which is found to be equal to 0.40 +- 0.07 (stat.) +- 0.05 (syst.) over the measured range of x at Q^2 = 10 (GeV/c)^2. When combined with the first moment of g_1^d previously measured …
Quark structure of the $$\chi _{\mathrm{c}}(3P)$$ and X(4274) resonances and their strong and radiative decays
2020
AbstractWe calculate the masses of $$\chi _{\mathrm{c}}(3P)$$χc(3P) states with threshold corrections in a coupled-channel model. The model was recently applied to the description of the properties of $$\chi _{\mathrm{c}}(2P)$$χc(2P) and $$\chi _{\mathrm{b}}(3P)$$χb(3P) multiplets (Ferretti and Santopinto in Phys Lett B 789:550, 2019]. We also compute the open-charm strong decay widths of the $$\chi _{\mathrm{c}}(3P)$$χc(3P) states and their radiative transitions. According to our predictions, the $$\chi _{\mathrm{c}}(3P)$$χc(3P) states should be dominated by the charmonium core, but they may also show small meson-meson components. The X(4274) is interpreted as a $$c {{\bar{c}}}$$cc¯$$\chi …
Genome-wide significant association of ANKRD55 rs6859219 and multiple sclerosis risk.
2013
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a genetically complex disease that shares a substantial proportion of risk loci with other autoimmune diseases.1 Along these lines, ANKRD55 , originally implicated in rheumatoid arthritis, was recently reported as a potential novel MS risk gene (rs6859219, p=1.9×10−7).2 Here, we comprehensively validated this effect in independent datasets comprising 8846 newly genotyped subjects from Germany and France as well as 5003 subjects from two genome-wide association studies (GWAS). Upon meta-analysis of all available data (19 686 subjects), ANKRD55 rs6859219 now shows compelling evidence for association with MS at genome-wide significance (OR=1.19, p=3.1×10−11). Our stu…
Implementation of Universal Digital Architecture using 3D-NoC for Mobile Terminal
2014
International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT), Ecole Natl Ingenieurs Metz, Metz, FRANCE, NOV 03-05, 2014; International audience; The need to integrate multiple wireless communication protocols into a single low-cost flexible hardware platform is prompted by the increasing number of emerging communication protocols and applications in modern embedded systems. So the current challenge is to design of new digital architectures, in addition to its ability to take over of many functions. In this paper we have identified similarities between the despreader units in Rake receiver and the processor element in FFT-SDF (Fast Fourier Transform-Single path Delay Fe…
Comparison of Single-Echo T2-weighted Fast Spin-Echo and Conventional Spin-Echo MR Sequences
1998
We compared single-echo T2-weighted fast spin-echo (FSE) magnetic resonance imaging and conventional spin-echo (CSE) T2-weighted imaging in the detection of brain lesions of multiple sclerosis (MS). 16 patients with clinically definite MS underwent brain imaging at 0.5 T with T2-weighted single-echo fast spin-echo (FSE) and conventional spin-echo (CSE) sequences. Image analysis was performed by three of the investigators who worked together to reduce interobserver variability. Statistical analysis was performed using Student's t test to assess the difference in the contrast-to-noise (C/N) ratio of MS lesions between CSE and FSE sequences. The Wilcoxon signed rank test was used to evaluate …
Valutazione comparativa delle sequenze fast Spin-echo e Spin-echo T2-dipendenti nella dimostrazione delle lesioni demielinizzanti encefaliche in cors…
1997
We compared T2-weighted fast spin-echo (FSE) magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and conventional spin-echo (CSE) T2-weighted imaging in the detection of brain lesions of multiple sclerosis (MS). 20 patients with clinically definite MS underwent brain imaging with both FSE and CSE T2-weighted imaging. There was no significant difference in total number of lesions detected on FSE vs CSE (1354 vs 1378). Slightly more periventricular and subcortical lesions were detected using CSE than FSE, whereas more posterior cranial fossa lesions were detected by FSE. There was no statistically significant difference in the signal intensity (SI) ratio of MS lesions to that of surrounding normal white matter …
