The effect of excipients on the stability and phase transition rate of xylazine hydrochloride and zopiclone

The compatibility of thermodynamically unstable polymorph of two active pharmaceutical compounds (xylazine hydrochloride form X and zopiclone form C) with different excipients was investigated. The effects of the excipient and its amount in the sample on the thermal properties and possible chemical interactions were studied. The most commonly used excipients in the pharmaceutical industry - calcium carbonate, lactose hydrate, cellulose, magnesium stearate hydrate and calcium stearate hydrate were selected for this study. Element variability in the coralline alga Lithophyllum yemenense as archive of past climate in the Gulf of Aden (NW Indian Ocean)

This study presents the first algal thallus (skeleton) archive of Asian monsoon strength and Red Sea influence in the Gulf of Aden. Mg/Ca, Li/Ca, and Ba/Ca were measured in Lithophyllum yemenense from Balhaf (Gulf of Aden) using laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, and Mg/Ca ratio oscillation was used to reconstruct the chronology (34 y). Oscillations of element rates corresponding to the algal growth between 1974 and 2008 were compared with recorded climate and oceanographic variability. Magnesium chloride modified with organoaluminium compounds as a support of the zirconocene catalyst for ethylene polymerisation

Abstract This work describes the influence of the modification of the MgCl2(THF)2 and MgCl2 magnesium supports with the AlEt2Cl, MAO, AlEt3, AlMe3, and AlEt2Cl alkylaluminium compounds on heterogenisation of the bis(cyclopentadienyl) zirconium(IV) dichloride Cp2ZrCl2 catalyst. It was found that only the MgCl2(THF)2 support modified with AlEt2Cl gave the heterogeneous catalyst. On the contrary, application of a magnesium carrier modified by AlEt3, AlMe3, and MAO compounds only results in a homogeneous zirconocene catalyst.

Heterogeneous zirconocene catalyst on magnesium support MgCl2(THF)2 modified by AlEt2Cl for ethylene polymerisation

Abstract The heterogeneous bis(cyclopentadienyl)zirconium(IV) dichloride catalyst of the composition MgCl2(THF)/(AlEt2Cl)0.34/(Cp2ZrCl2)0.01 as determined by FTIR, XRD, and AAS analyses was synthesised and, after activation by MAO, applied for ethylene polymerisation. The catalyst turned out to be stable and more active than those magnesium supported catalysts already known from the literature. The polyethylene produced has a relatively high molecular weight (Mw > 200,000 g/mol), a narrow and monomodal molecular weight distribution (MWD = 2.4), a bulk density of about 180 g/dm3, and monomodal particle size distribution. Revised decay properties of the key 93-keV resonance in the 25Mg(p,γ) reaction and its influence on the MgAl cycle in astrophysical environments

The γ-decay properties of an excited state in 26Al at 6398.3(8) keV have been reexamined using the 11B+16O fusion-evaporation reaction. This level represents a key 93.1(8)-keV resonance in the 25Mg+p system and its relative branching to the 26Al ground state, f0, has been determined to be 0.76±0.03 (stat.) ±0.10 (syst.). This is a significantly higher value than the most recent evaluation and implies a considerable increase in the production of cosmic γ rays from 26Al radioactivity. peerReviewed

Structural examination data are presented for various supports. Porosimetry (Table 2) and particle size distribution studies on MgCl 2, MgCl 2(THF) 2, Al 2O 3 as supports, carried out prior to and after ball-milling (Figs. 1, 3), suggest that MgCl 2 is beneficial as carrier because it is more liable to pretreatment (ball-milling, presence of a Lewis base) and allows its mass to be better utilized and its surface to produce catalytically active centers.
