Arctic is a region where a quick warming is ongoing. Effects are particularly visible on glaciers of which dynamics is very sensitive to climate change. The goal of this study is to identify and rank the main climatological and nivological factors influencing the mass balance of a small arctic glacier in Svalbard using a statistical approach. To highlight spatial differences, cartography were then used. Results show that positive degree-days play an important role in explaining mass balance contrary to liquid precipitations that had a marginal effect over the studied period (2007-2014). Moreover, years with very different climatic conditions can lead to a similar mass balance.
Precision Mass Measurements on Neutron-Rich Rare-Earth Isotopes at JYFLTRAP : Reduced Neutron Pairing and Implications for r-Process Calculations

The rare-earth peak in the r-process abundance pattern depends sensitively on both the astrophysical conditions and subtle changes in nuclear structure in the region. This work takes an important step towards elucidating the nuclear structure and reducing the uncertainties in r-process calculations via precise atomic mass measurements at the JYFLTRAP double Penning trap. Nd158, Pm160, Sm162, and Gd164-166 have been measured for the first time, and the precisions for Nd156, Pm158, Eu162,163, Gd163, and Tb164 have been improved considerably. Towards high-accuracy mass spectrometry of highly charged short-lived ions at ISOLTRAP

Kluge on the occasion of his 65th birthday anniversary - Jürgen Kluge Special Issue; Multiply charged ions of stable xenon isotopes from a plasma ion source have been mass-selected by the on-line mass separator ISOLDE/CERN and delivered to the triple-trap mass spectrometer ISOLTRAP. The doubly charged ions that survived the charge-exchange processes during bunching and ion preparation were transferred to a precision Penning trap for mass determination. Mass values were obtained for the isotopes with mass numbers A=126,129,130,136. They are consistent with previous results except for the case of $^{126}Xe$ where a significant deviation from the literature value was found. …

Data of 31 field trials were analysed to quantify the impact of cover crops grown during summerfallow on weeds during this period. Results show that weed abundance at the date of cover-cropdestruction greatly varies between experimental locations which differed in terms of pedoclimate,previous crop etc. Cover-crop above-ground biomass did not impact weed plant density. However,weed above-ground biomass decreased with increasing cover-crop biomass. Organic waste products (OWP) with NPK mineral fertilization are known to have an impact on soil microbial communities. However, dynamic of these communities following a repeated OWP and NPK application has not been well described. In the present study, this dynamic was observed on soil sampled at the La Mare (La Réunion) field experiment, which was set up in 2013. This experiment includes control plot (without organic input, but mineral fertilization) and several plots receiving different types of OWP coupled with NPK fertilization. β-decay rates of 115,117Rh into 115,117Pd isotopes in the microscopic interacting boson-fermion model

The structure of odd-A 115,117Rh and 115,117Pd isotopes is studied by means of the neutron-proton interacting boson-fermion model (IBFM-2). JP=12+ quantum number assignment for the 115,117Pd ground states is critically discussed and the predicted energy levels are compared to the existing experimental data. The resulting nuclear wave functions are used to compute the β-decay ft values of the transitions from 115,117Rh to 115,117Pd in the microscopic IBFM-2 and the results compared with the data. peerReviewed
