From the memory of the experience to the relationship with the retailer : a theoretical and methodological exploration in the field of retail

Our research proposes an enrichment of the experiential paradigm by focusing on the consequences of experience. We support the view that an approach by the memory of the experience can partly compensate for the limitations of satisfaction in understanding the retailer-customer relationship. Internet banking adoption among mature customers: early majority or laggards?

Finland is a world leader in electronic banking, and over 39.8 percent of all retail banking transactions were made over the Internet in August 2000. Using the data of a large survey, we analyzed mature customers’ Internet banking behavior. Internet banking was the third popular mode of payment among mature customers. Household income and education were found to have a significant effect on the adoption of the Internet as a banking channel, so that over 30 percent of wealthy and well‐educated mature males make e‐banking their primary mode of making payments. It has been argued that the aim of non-linearities in different visual and auditory mechanisms may be to remove the relations between the coefficients of the signal after global linear ICA-like stages. Specifically, in Schwartz and Simoncelli (2001), it was shown that masking effects are reproduced by fitting the parameters of a particular non-linearity in order to remove the dependencies between the energy of wavelet coefficients. Shape memory NiTi thin films deposited at low temperature

Abstract NiTi shape memory alloy (SMA) thin films have the potential to become high performance actuators for micro-electromechanical systems. Low temperature crystallized NiTi films would ensure a good compatibility with microelectronic processes and polymers. To avoid the drawbacks induced by annealing, we have tried to obtain low temperature crystallized RF sputtered NiTi films by optimising deposition parameters. We have found that NiTi films containing an excess of Ti (∼52%) were crystallized when deposited on Si(100) substrates heated up to only 473 K. NiTi/Si(n) Schottky diodes I–V characteristics showed a temperature dependence indicating structural transition in the NiTi electrode.…

Gradient-enhanced model and its micromorphic regularization for simulation of Lüders-like bands in shape memory alloys

Abstract Shape memory alloys, notably NiTi, often exhibit softening pseudoelastic response that results in formation and propagation of Luders-like bands upon loading, for instance, in uniaxial tension. A common approach to modelling softening and strain localization is to resort to gradient-enhanced formulations that are capable of restoring well-posedness of the boundary-value problem. This approach is also followed in the present paper by introducing a gradient-enhancement into a simple one-dimensional model of pseudoelasticity.
