This literature review on pseudocyesis or false pregnancy aims to find epidemiological, psychiatric/psychologic, gynecological and endocrine traits associated with this condition in order to propose neuroendocrine/endocrine mechanisms leading to the emergence of pseudocyetic traits. Ten women from 5 selected studies were analyzed after applying stringent criteria to discriminate between cases of true pseudocyesis (pseudocyesis vera) versus delusional, simulated or erroneous pseudocyesis. To investigate the role of the nerve growth factor (NGF) in the endometriosis-associated innervation in the development of endometriosis- associated symptoms, 41 peritoneal fluid samples (PF) from patients with surgically and histologically proven endometriosis and 20 PF from patients with other gynecologic conditions were analyzed with Western blot and a novel in vitro model using dorsal root ganglia (DRG) to show neuronal outgrowth; endometrial cells also were analyzed. Intra-uterine adhesions (IUAs) after initial treatment in patients with Asherman’s Syndrome are one of the main challenging issues in the gynecological practice, since its incidence has been increasing over the last few decades, with a reported recurrence rate up to 30%. Asherman syndrome is characterized by variable scarring inside the uterine cavity that can lead to partial or complete dysfunction of the endometrium with impairment of fertility and menstrual pattern (amenorrhea and hypomenorrhea).

Se presenta un inusual caso de Adenocarcinoma Polimorfo de Bajo Grado en estadio IV (T4N2CMx) localizado en la fosa nasal con extensión hacia región pterigoidea. El tumor primario fue tratado mediante una resección del mismo a través una osteotomía de maxilar superior tipo Lefort I y a nivel cervical se realizó un vaciamiento ganglionar cervical supraomohioideo homolateral. Posteriormente recibió tratamiento coadyuvante con radioterapia postoperatoria. Purpose To examine the effects of fatiguing power-loading on neuromuscular properties, force production, and metabolic capacities during four phases of the menstrual cycle (MC); menstruation (M), mid-follicular (mid FOL), ovulation (OV), and mid-luteal (mid LUT).
