26,28-Diallyloxy-5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,27-bis(cyanomethoxy)calix[4]arene in the partial cone conformation

2006

The title compound, C54H66N2O4, crystallizes with two molecules in the asymmetric unit. Both adopt the typical partial cone conformation which was also found for 26,28-diallyloxy-5,17-di-tert-butyl-25,27-bis(cyanomethoxy)-11,23-dinitrocalix[4]arene [Danila, Bohmer & Bolte (2005). Org. Biomol. Chem. 3, 3508–3513]. The crystal structure of the title compound in the 1,2-alternate conformation has been determined recently [Danila, Bohmer & Bolte (2005). Org. Biomol. Chem. 3, 3508–3513].

Multicatalytic Transformation of (Meth)acrylic Acids: a One-Pot Approach to Biobased Poly(meth)acrylates

2021

International audience; Shifting from petrochemical feedstocks to renewable resources can address some of the environmental issues associated with petrochemical extraction and make plastics production sustainable. Therefore, there is a growing interest in selective methods for transforming abundant renewable feedstocks into monomers suitable for polymer production. Reported herein are one-pot catalytic systems, that are active,<br&gtproductive, and selective under mild conditions for the synthesis of copolymers from renewable materials. Each system allows for anhydride formation, alcohol acylation and/or acid esterification, as well as polymerization of the formed (meth)- acrylates, providi…

3,5-Bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl 4-methylbenzenesulfonate

2017

Molecules of the title compound, C15H10F6O3S, are composed of 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl substituted with a toluene-4-sulfonate group. The dihedral angle between two aromatic moieties is 45.10 (5)°. In the crystal, molecules are connected by weak C—H...O and C—H...F contacts. One of the trifluoromethyl groups is disordered.

Crystal structure of 2-[chloro(4-methoxyphenyl)methyl]-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5,5-dimethylcyclohexane-1,3-dione

2016

One of the methyl groups and the 4-methoxyphenyl substituent are in axial positions and the chloro(4-methoxyphenyl)methyl substituent is in the equatorial position of the cyclohexane ring which adopts a chair conformation. The packing features inversion-symmetric dimeric units and strands along [100] and [010] established by weak C—H⋯O and C—H⋯Cl contacts.

Tetrakis(dimethoxyboryl)methane

2016

The title compound, tetrakis(dimethoxyboryl)methane (systematic name: octamethyl methanetetrayltetraboronate), C9H24B4O8or C[B(OMe)2]4, is a useful synthetic intermediate. Crystals of this compound at 102 K conform to the orthorhombic space groupPbcn. The molecules, which reside on sites of crystallographic twofold symmetry, have idealized -4 point symmetry like most other CX4molecules in which eachXgroup bears two non-H substituents at the 1-position. The central C atom has a slightly distorted tetrahedral coordination geometry, with C—B bond lengths of 1.5876 (16) and 1.5905 (16) Å. One of the methoxy groups is disordered over two sets of sites; the major component has an occupancy factor…

3,4′,5,5′-Tetramethoxy-2′-methylbiphenyl-4-ol

2019

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C17H20O5, contains two independent molecules, A and B, with similar geometries [dihedral angles between the phenyl rings = 56.19 (8) and 54.98 (7)°, respectively]. Intramolecular O—H...O hydrogen bonds occur in both molecules. In the crystal, the A molecules form [1\overline{1}0] chains linked by O—H...O hydrogen bonds from the hydroxyl group to one of the methoxy O atoms. The B molecules form O—H...O hydrogen bonds to the hydroxyl O atoms of the A molecules and thus act as fixed spacers between the chains of molecule A. Some weak C—H...O contacts are also present.

Cannabidiol Treatment Might Promote Resilience to Cocaine and Methamphetamine Use Disorders: A Review of Possible Mechanisms

2019

Currently, there are no approved pharmacotherapies for addiction to cocaine and other psychostimulant drugs. Several studies have proposed that cannabidiol (CBD) could be a promising treatment for substance use disorders. In the present work, the authors describe the scarce preclinical and human research about the actions of CBD on the effects of stimulant drugs, mainly cocaine and methamphetamine (METH). Additionally, the possible mechanisms underlying the therapeutic potential of CBD on stimulant use disorders are reviewed. CBD has reversed toxicity and seizures induced by cocaine, behavioural sensitization induced by amphetamines, motivation to self-administer cocaine and METH, context- …
