Dentoalveolar changes in adults promoted by the use of auxiliary expansion arch: A CBCT study

Background The objective of this study was to evaluate the dentoalveolar effects and the changes of buccal cortical bone in the posterior area after expansion obtained with TMA auxiliary expansion arch in adult patients. Material and Methods A retrospective analysis of CT scans of 13 patients (6 male, 7 female) treated at a private clinic, taken immediately before and after the use of an auxiliary expansion archwire, was performed. Iontophoretic Transdermal Delivery of Sumatriptan: Effect of Current Density and Ionic Strength

ABSTRACT: Iontophoretic transdermal delivery of sumatriptan was investigated in vitro . Among the conditions tested, 0.25 mA/cm 2 and low ionic strength (NaCl 25 mM) was the best experimental condition to increase its transport across the skin. Comparison of computational and experimental saturation vapor pressures of α-pinene + O<sub>3</sub> oxidation products

Abstract. Accurate information on gas-to-particle partitioning is needed to model secondary organic aerosol formation. However, determining reliable saturation vapor pressures of atmospherically relevant multifunctional organic compounds is extremely difficult. We estimated saturation vapor pressures of α-pinene ozonolysis derived secondary organic aerosol constituents using FIGAERO-CIMS experiments and COSMO-RS theory. Abstract The giant hyena Pachycrocuta brevirostris was the largest bone-cracking carnivore that ever existed. With the mass of a lioness, it had massive limbs with shortened distal bones and a heavy, powerfully built mandible with robust, well-developed premolars. All these features reflect its adaptation for dismembering ungulate carcasses, transporting large pieces of them without dragging to the denning site and fracturing bones. B-mode versus A-mode ultrasonographic measurements of mucosal thickness in vivo

Abstract Objective: The objective of this study was to compare the measurement accuracy of A-mode and B-mode ultrasonographic assessments of palatal masticatory mucosal thickness in vivo. Study Design: Thickness of palatal masticatory mucosa in the molar region of 50 volunteers was measured once with a B-mode ultrasound device (10 MHz) combined with a standoff for intraoral applications. At identical reading points thickness was also assessed with an A-mode device (5 replicates) and by needle probing for determination of true thickness. Study on resolution capacity and secondary mechanisms of three different TSK gels for organic SEC.

A comparative study on the elution behavior in size-exclusion chromatography (SEC) of three polymeric TSK gel packings, named H, H H R , and H X L types, is performed. The deviations of the universal calibration (u.c.) curves of seven solvent-polymer systems show evidence that the existence of secondary effects accompanying the main SEC mechanism. These secondary mechanisms are a consequence of the binary enthalpic interactions between the different components of the chromatographic system, such as polymer-solvent, polymer-gel and solvent-gel.
