The crater lakes are a natural hazard for the population living near them because they can generate liminic explosions, like as the disaster of Nyos lake (Cameroon 1986), in which 1476 people and thousands of animals died. Crater lakes are able to store magmatic and hydrothermal gases and solubilising them into the water. An overpressure of the dissolved gases can generate a limnic eruption. Partial migration – a part of a population migrates and another part stays resident year-round on the breeding site – is probably the most common type of migration in the animal kingdom, yet it has only lately garnered more attention. Theoretical studies indicate that in partially migratory populations, the proportion of resident individuals (PoR) should increase in high latitudes in response to the warming climate, but empirical evidence exists for few species. We provide the first comprehensive overview of the environmental factors affecting PoR and the long-term trends in PoR by studying 27 common partially migratory bird species in Finland. “Vita dei campi” è una ricerca progettuale iniziata nel 2009 con la tesi di laurea dell’autore e sintetizzata – dopo dieci anni di osservazioni, rilevamenti topografici, fotografici ed elaborazioni progettuali – in questo volume. Lo studio, che tuttavia può dirsi ancora in corso, si propone di analizzare l’architettura e i “caratteri essenziali” del paesaggio agricolo dei Monti Erei con lo scopo di estrapolarne, attraverso un procedimento di “derivazione compositiva”, i principi insediativi e tipologici riconosciuti come “invarianti formali” del territorio in esame.
