Tarkastelen tutkielmassani Surkeiden sattumusten sarja -nimisen lastenkirjasarjan fiktiivisen tekijähahmon, Lemony Snicketin, rooleja sarjan maailman rakentumisen näkökulmasta. Niin Snicket kuin sarjakin ovat Daniel Handler -nimisen materiaalisen tekijän tuotosta, mutta itse kirjoista tämä ei käy ilmi. Snicket ei kuitenkaan ole vain Handlerin salanimi vaan myös kirjojen kertoja ja henkilöhahmo niiden maailmassa. Sarjan annetaan ymmärtää perustuvan Snicketin tutkimustyölle: kirjat ovat fiktiivisiä tutkimusraportteja kolmen orpolapsen epäonnisesta elämästä. Im Mittelpunkt des Aufsatzes steht die Frage nach der Anwendbarkeit des Textmuster-Begriffs auf die Beschreibung und auf die Analyse von Fachdiskursen. Es wird zunächst einmal kurz an die Diskussion erinnert, welche zur Unterscheidung von Textsorte und Textmuster geführt hat: während der erste Begriff den Text als statische Größe betrachtet, so fokussiert der zweite eher auf das Prozessuale an der Textproduktion und -rezeption. Aus diesem Grund scheint der Textmuster-Begriff für eine kognitive Herangehensweise besonders geeignet zu sein. Current life-history theory predicts that increased mortality at early stages of life leads to reduced initial investment (e.g. clutch size) but increased subsequent investment during the reproduction attempt. In a field experiment, migratory pied flycatchers Ficedula hypoleuca perceived differences in mammalian nest predation risk and altered their reproductive strategies in two respects. First, birds avoided nest sites manipulated to reflect the presence of a predator. Second, birds breeding in risky areas nested 4 days earlier and laid 10 per cent larger clutches than those in safe areas, a result that runs counter to the prevailing life-history paradigm. Safety and efficacy of Temsirolimus in combination with Bendamustine and Rituximab in relapsed mantle cell and follicular lymphoma

In this phase I/II study, we explored the combination of Temsirolimus with Bendamustine and Rituximab (BeRT) in patients with r/r follicular lymphoma (FL) or mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). Patients with 1-3 prior therapies received Bendamustine (90 mg/m(2), day 1+2) and Rituximab (375 mg/m(2), day 1) with Temsirolimus in doses from 25 to 75 mg added on day 1, 8, 15 of a 28-day cycle. Fifteen (11 MCL, 4 FL) patients were included in the phase I. Median age was 73 years and median pretreatment number was 2. No formal dose-limiting toxicity was observed. Abstract Based on the results of combined data from three North American Phase II studies, a randomised Phase II study in the same patient population was performed, using combination chemotherapy with estramustine phosphate (EMP) and vinblastine (VBL) in hormone refractory prostate cancer patients. In all, 92 patients were randomised into a Phase II study of oral EMP (10 mg kg day continuously) or oral EMP in combination with intravenous VBL (4 mg m(2) week for 6 weeks, followed by 2 weeks rest).
