R&D teams' internationalization attracts interests from different research-streams. Functional A Posteriori Error Estimates for Time-Periodic Parabolic Optimal Control Problems

This article is devoted to the a posteriori error analysis of multiharmonic finite element approximations to distributed optimal control problems with time-periodic state equations of parabolic type. We derive a posteriori estimates of the functional type, which are easily computable and provide guaranteed upper bounds for the state and co-state errors as well as for the cost functional. These theoretical results are confirmed by several numerical tests that show high efficiency of the a posteriori error bounds. peerReviewed

Tower sets and other configurations with the Cohen-Macaulay property

Abstract Some well-known arithmetically Cohen–Macaulay configurations of linear varieties in P r as k-configurations, partial intersections and star configurations are generalized by introducing tower schemes. Tower schemes are reduced schemes that are a finite union of linear varieties whose support set is a suitable finite subset of Z + c called tower set. We prove that the tower schemes are arithmetically Cohen–Macaulay and we compute their Hilbert function in terms of their support. Application of deep convolutional neural networks for the detection of anthracnose in olives using VIS/NIR hyperspectral images

Abstract Anthracnose is one of the primary diseases that affect olive production before and after harvest, causing severe damage and economic losses. The objective of this work is to detect this disease in the early stages, using hyperspectral images and advanced modelling techniques of Deep Learning (DL) and convolutional neural networks (CNN). The olives were artificially inoculated with the fungus. Hyperspectral images (450–1050 nm) of each olive were acquired until visual symptoms of the disease were observed, in some cases up to 9 days. Affective state can influence cognition leading to biased information processing, interpretation, attention, and memory. Such bias has been reported to be essential for the onset and maintenance of different psychopathologies, particularly affective disorders. New tailor-made bio-organoclays for the remediation of olive mill waste water

A systematic study aimed at obtaining new organoclays for the treatment of Olive Mill Waste water (OMW) has been performed. Several organoclays have been prepared by loading different amounts of the biocompatible surfactant Tween20 onto the K10 montmorillonite (MMT). Complementary kinetic and equilibrium studies on the adsorption of the Tween20 onto the MMT have been carried out and the characterization of the new tailor-made bio-materials has been performed by means of the XRD and FT-IR measurements.
