Rodents detect information concerning the world around them mainly through two chemosensory systems: the olfactory and the vomeronasal systems. In order to develop an appropriate behavioural response to their environment, these systems exhibit both functional and physiological convergence. Further understanding of the organization and function of the olfactory systems would allow us to comprehend how their information is integrated in the brain. Artikkelissa esittelemme kahden Adolf von Beckerin nimiin signeeratun Ateljeessa-teoksen tutkimusta taidehistorian, maalaustekniikan ja materiaalitutkimuksen näkökulmista. Samalla pyrimme tuomaan esiin mitä uutta moniammatillinen yhteistyö ja luonnontieteessä käytetyt menetelmät on tuoneet taideteosten tutkimukseen. Deimatic displays, where sudden changes in prey appearance elicit aversive predator reactions, have been suggested to occur in many taxa. These (often only putative) displays frequently involve different components that may also serve antipredator functions via other mechanisms (e.g., mimicry, warning signalling, body inflation). However, the efficacy of this approach is inconclusive and studies investigating variables contributing to overall performance are scarce. Bakalaura darba “Augu nosaukumu darināšana latviešu valodā” mērķis ir pētīt latviešu valodas augu nosaukumu darināšanas paņēmienus un līdzekļus. Teorētiskajā daļā apkopota informācija par vārddarināšanas paņēmieniem un līdzekļiem, kā arī sniegts konspektīvs ieskats pētījumos par augu nosaukumu darināšanu latviešu valodā. Diplomdarbs ir pētījuma rezultāts, lai noskaidrotu kā dažādas vārda krājuma apguves metodes var palīdzēt skolēniem iemācīties, atcerēties un apgūt jaunus vārdus, izmantojot divas dažādas metodes valodas mācīšanā – gramatikas-tulkošanas metodi un komunikatīvo pieeju. Abas mācību metodes tika izvēlētas, ņemot vērā to kontrastējošās īpašības un popularitāti mūsdienu klasē, izpētot, kā dažādām mācību metodēm var būt atšķirīgi rezultāti vārdu apguvei. Pēc tam tika izvēlēta viena ceturtā klase kas tika sadalīta divās grupās, pirmā grupa tika mācīta izmantojot komunikatīvo pieeju, otrā grupa – gramatikas-tulkošanas metodi.
