Subcortical somatosensory evoked potentials after median nerve stimulation in children.

We report our normative data of subcortical somatosensory evoked potentials (SEPs) after median nerve stimulation from a group of 55 children 4–15 years of age and 18 young adults 18–29 years of age. We recorded near-field potentials from the brachial plexus, the cervical cord and the somatosensory cortex. The far-field potentials P13, P14 and N18 from the brainstem were recorded from the scalp electrodes, when a non-cephalic reference at the contralateral Erb's point or an ear reference was used. On some Translation Planes Admitting a Frobenius Group of Collineations

Publisher Summary This chapter presents some results concerning translation planes of dimension 2 over GF(q), where q = p r . π denotes such a plane. It is assumed that π has a collineation group F of order q 2 (q-1) satisfying the condition: there exists a point V e l ∞ such that F fixes V and acts (faithfully) as a Frobenius group on l ∞ – {V}.
A class of unitals of order q which can be embedded in two different planes of order q2

By deriving the desarguesian plane of order q2 for every prime power q a unital of order q is constructed which can be embedded in both the Hall plane and the dual of the Hall plane of order q2 which are non-isomorphic projective planes. The representation of translation planes in the fourdimensional projective space of J. Andre and F. Buekenhouts construction of unitals in these planes are used. It is shown that the full automorphism groups of these unitals are just the collineation groups inherited from the classical unitals.

Here the relations between these special collineations of π and certain incidence propositions inF are investigated; so new proofs are given for some characterisations of (A,B)-regular spreads included in [7].

Omphacite textures in eclogites of the Tauern Window: Implications for the exhumation of the Eclogite Zone, Eastern Alps

Abstract We discuss the relationship of omphacite lattice preferred orientation (LPO) patterns in eclogite and kinematic indicators in the matrix surrounding the eclogite during the very rapid exhumation of the deeply buried Eclogite Zone in the Tauern Window of the Eastern Alps. LPO patterns are presented from profiles parallel to the eclogite stretching lineation across the Eclogite Zone. The omphacite textures show symmetric patterns across the entire Eclogite Zone; only in few cases slight asymmetries are observed. Inhibitory effects oftrans-resveratrol analogs molecules on the proliferation and the cell cycle progression of human colon tumoral cells

International audience; Resveratrol may function as a cancer chemopreventive agent. However, few data are available on the antitumoral activities of its dimer, epsilon-viniferin, also present in human diet. So, the effects of resveratrol, epsilon-viniferin, of their acetylated forms (resveratrol triacetate, epsilon-viniferin pentaacetate) and of vineatrol (a wine grape extract) were compared on human adenocarcinoma colon cells. Resveratrol and resveratrol triacetate inhibit cell proliferation and arrest cell cycle. epsilon-Viniferin and epsilon-viniferin pentaacetate slightly reduce cell proliferation.
