The aim of this study was to test the effects of chair-based exercise programs on salivary stress hormones, physical fitness, and functional autonomy of institutionalized older women.In total, 47 participants (80 ± 8.04 years old) were recruited and allocated into three groups: chair-based aerobic exercises (CAE, n = 19), chair-based elastic-band strength exercises (CSE, n = 15), and a control group (CG, n = 13). A 14-week exercise intervention was done for the CAE and CSE groups, two times per week, in no consecutive days. Abstract. Glycerol released by isolated epididymal adipocytes was measured in 6-8 weeks old genetically obese (fa/fa) and lean (C.c.a/-) male Zucker rats, ip treated or not treated with T3 (0.46, 2.3 and 4.6 nmol/100 g in a single injection or 4.6 nmol · (100 g)−1 · day−1 for 5 days). In the non-treated rats, lipolysis was less stimulated by adrenalin or isoproterenol in obese than in lean rats, whereas it was stimulated by theophylline up to the same level in both kinds of rats. A single injection of the T3 (highest dose) increased isoproterenol-induced lipolysis in the lean but not in the obese rats. ZusammenfassungProstatakrebs weist im Vergleich zu anderen Tumorentitäten ein heterogenes genetisches Profil auf. Dementsprechend sind auch Mutationen, die das Prostatakarzinomrisiko erhöhen, vielfältig. Manche genetische Varianten fallen bei der Risikoerhöhung nur milde ins Gewicht. Andere Genmutationen (BRCA1 /2; HOXB13) erhöhen das Risiko jedoch teils erheblich. Resumen Introduccion El objetivo fue estudiar la relacion entre la determinacion cuantitativa de ARNm (hTERT) en pacientes con tumor vesical, antecedentes de tumor vesical y en sujetos sin antecedentes de esta neoplasia. Material y metodos Se trata de un estudio prospectivo, aleatorizado y controlado con 91 sujetos incluidos. El valor de ARNm-hTERTN se determino en 63 pacientes con antecedentes o sospecha de tumor vesical y en 28 controles. Resumen Objetivos Determinar el comportamiento del PCA3 como un marcador de segunda linea en un programa de cribado oportunista de cancer de prostata (CaP) y su comparacion con la calculadora de riesgo 3 del cribado aleatorizado europeo en cancer de prostata (ERSPC RC-3). Material y metodos Un total de 5.199 hombres de 40-75 anos se hicieron la prueba del antigeno prostatico especifico (PSA) y un tacto rectal (TR).
