Analysis and Improving Methods of Efficiency of Solar Energy in Municipal Heating System

This paper introduces the current state of solar heating system among Wanzleben city heating net. In view of low efficiency (only 20-30%) of this system, it analyses the shortcomings of this applied system from sensors' situation, fixed flow problem, the influence of the user's water temperature and the length of pipe separately. Some improving methods which are effective by theoretical analysis are suggested. The implementation steps have to be discussed in more detail with the utility.

A machine learning approach to determine airport asphalt concrete layer moduli using heavy weight deflectometer data

An integrated approach based on machine learning and data augmentation techniques has been developed in order to predict the stiffness modulus of the asphalt concrete layer of an airport runway, from data acquired with a heavy weight deflectometer (HWD). The predictive model relies on a shallow neural network (SNN) trained with the results of a backcalculation, by means of a data augmentation method and can produce estimations of the stiffness modulus even at runway points not yet sampled. Improving High Frequency Transformers behavior for DC-DC Converter Used in Electric Vehicles

The paper presents a design procedure for high frequency transformer windings adopted in the DC-DC converter used in electric vehicles. The output of the design procedure is the integration of a 3D printed plastic case in the transformer windings, with the aim to maximize the output power. The proposal design procedure is entirely based on a finite element analysis approach and on a differential evolution algorithm used for the solution of the optimization problem.

International audience; The perovskite BaCe(0.9−x)ZrxY0.1O(3−ı) is prepared by solid-state reaction at 1400 ◦C and sintering at 1700 ◦C. It is characterised using X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy and electrical measurements. A distortion fromthe cubic structure at roomtemperature is noticeable in the Raman spectra for 0.2 < x < 0.8, but not in the X-ray diffraction patterns. This work points out the rhombohedral nature of this distortion. Phase transitions are studied up to 600 ◦C. This article examines how Finnish universities and other higher education institutes have responded to the challenges posed by rapid changes in the world of work and societies all over Europe, particularly with reference to the development of generic skills. The data were collected by means of individual and group interviews at three Finnish higher education institutes, including two universities and one university of applied sciences. The interviews involved 63 persons in charge of management, development and teaching at these institutes.
