Ex situ conservation and exploitation of fungi in Italy

2011

Abstract The kingdom Fungi comprises one of the most diverse groups of living organisms. They are numerous, ubiquitous and undertake many roles both independently and in association with other organisms. Fungi display a wide diversity of forms also mirrored by functional diversity and play such a dominant role in human society that they are arguably biotechnologically the most important group of organisms. Ex situ conservation of fungi, not only guarantees correct management and conservation of biodiversity, but also its exploitation in different fields. This article describes the major biological resource centres dealing with fungi in Italy and gives several examples of fungal exploitation…

LA PRESENZA DEGLI ARCHITETTI SICILIANI A ROMA, CAPITALE DEL REGNO D'ITALIA

2021

Attempt on the Life of the King Alexander I in Marseille – Circumstances – Organizers – Consequences. Analysis of the Problem

2018

The main goal of this paper is to present the circumstances of an attempt on the life of the King Alexander I Karađorđevic, who was killed by terrorists from Macedonian organization VMRO in 1934, during his official visit in France. The author indicated that many researchers were focused mainly on the following questions: who were the organizers and co-organizers of the assassination attempt? What was the goal of terrorists: assassination of the King of Yugoslavia or assassination of Louis Barthou, minister of foreign affairs of France? On the other hand, the author of this paper presented a thesis that the attack in Marseille was unquestionably a terrorist act of combined forces of Croatia…

The Hungarian Nation: From Hungary to Magyarország

2009

This chapter’s title is a linguistic pun that needs explanation. Magyarorszag means ‘Hungary’ in Magyar. But scholars writing in languages that used to be minority ones in the Hungarian section of Austria-Hungary are careful to distinguish between multiethnic historical Hungary and the ethnically Magyar nation-state that emerged after World War I. Obviously, this distinction originated due to the 19th-century insistence on the part of Magyar politicians that the Magyar language should be spoken by all the inhabitants of the multiethnic and multilingual Kingdom of Hungary. But one can find the first recorded instance of conscious distinguishing between Hungaris and Magyaris in the 1778 Latin…
