Evaluation of Distance Education : Cost-Effectiveness

This entry attempts to present the state of the art on the question of the cost-effectiveness analysis of distance teaching systems. It x-publicationlocationes especially two problems : the rapid evolution of information technologies introduces continuous changes in the combination of pedagogical inputs, from both a content and a cost point of view ; in addition, the new information technologies are also adopted within traditional face to face teaching, which leads to a reduction of the differencies between both modes of teaching delivery, and promotes some sort of convergence between the two systems.

The aim of this thesis is to examine and interpret the sophisticated composition of Rodrigo Fresán’s “house of books” or “intertextual series”. Our research will demonstrate that the nine books of the Argentinean writer, in spite of their different generic classifications and their significant thematic diversity, form a coherent whole and they cannot be therefore analyzed separately. The continuity, the logic and, most importantly, the systematic nature of this literary project, that unites all the books of the author in an original and fractal intertextual series “in progress”, will be showed. The sixth principle of the Charte de la Ligue Internationale de l’Education Nouvelle of 1921 emphasizes the concept of coeducation. The definition of this concept provides interesting insights to launch a proactive debate on the need to increase the male presence in primary school teaching staff. First of all, some results of empir- ical research that support the request to increase the number of male teachers in the primary school are displayed. Secondly, the most significant measures adopted by some States to promote the figure of the male primary school teacher are described. Finally, a few proposals are made on what could be done in Italy.

This study examines the Green Movement in Bulgaria (1987-2014) as a typical and specific example of the New Social Movements. It focuses on the interconnection between environmentalism, politics and participation. We present the movement along with its evolution and analyse it on three levels: macro (through its relation to the most important contemporary issues, phenomena and processes); meso (in the national context during the past three generations); and micro (through the prism of individuals and their experience). Some ammonites, formerly collected by René Mouterde within the Sinemurian and Pliensbachian beds of the “Calcaires de Laffrey” (Isère, France), are first described and illustrated in this work. The Sinemurian (Semicostatum chronozone) assemblage, chiefly constituted by Arnioceras gr. robustum (Quenstedt, 1884), is rather usual for the NW European faunas. Conversely, the Pliensbachian (Jamesoni chronozone, Brevispina subchronozone) assemblage is very peculiar. It is chiefly constituted by a very rare species Pseudojamesonites nov. gen. mouterdei nov. sp. (Eoderoceratoidea) which is here described for the first time.
