The two genes for the C4A and C4B isotypes of the fourth component of human complement are located in the MHC class III region. Previous studies have demonstrated the unusual expression of C4 genes in the form of aberrant or duplicated haplotypes. Null alleles of C4A or C4B (AQ0 or BQ0) have been defined by the absence of gene products and occur at frequencies of 0.1-0.3. However, only some C4 null alleles are due to gene deletions, the remainder were thought to be nonexpressed genes. We study a theory of finite type invariants for null-homologous knots in rational homology 3-spheres with respect to null Lagrangian-preserving surgeries. It is an analogue in the setting of the rational homology of the Goussarov-Rozansky theory for knots in integral homology 3-spheres. We give a partial combinatorial description of the graded space associated with our theory and determine some cases when this description is complete. Quantization on the Virasoro group

The quantization of the Virasoro group is carried out by means of a previously established group approach to quantization. We explicitly work out the two-cocycles on the Virasoro group as a preliminary step. In our scheme the carrier space for all the Virasoro representations is made out of polarized functions on the group manifold. It is proved that this space does not contain null vector states, even forc≦1, although it is not irreducible. In this paper three different concepts of bivariate sign and rank, namely marginal sign and rank, spatial sign and rank and affine equivariant sign and rank, are considered. The aim is to see whether these different sign and rank covariances can be used to construct tests for the hypothesis of independence. In normal young adults, mixed results have been reported, with studies showing a positive, a negative, or a null effect of singing on verbal recall.
