Abstract We report semiclassical line broadening calculations for methane perturbed by nitrogen at room temperature. For this, we have developed a symmetrized version of the Robert and Bonamy theory. The interaction potential was built from electrostatic (octopole and hexadecapole for methane, quadrupole for nitrogen) and atom–atom contributions. The relative (classical) trajectories of the molecules were computed in the frame of the usual parabolic model, through analytical formula. High orders of developments had to be used for the short range molecular interactions. Modulation of protein tyrosine nitration and inflammatory mediators by isoprenylhydroquinone glucoside.

The nitration of tyrosine caused by peroxynitrite and other reactive nitrogen species is clearly detrimental for some physiological processes; however, its signalling role is still open to controversy. Among the natural phenolics known for their ability to oppose free tyrosine nitration, isoprenylhydroquinone glucoside is investigated due to its unusual structure, which contains a simple hydroxybenzene alkylated by a hemiterpenoid moiety. This hydroquinone was shown to be an effective inhibitor of peroxynitrite-induced protein tyrosine nitration in 3T3 fibroblasts. Interaction of dicaffeoylquinic derivatives with peroxynitrite and other reactive nitrogen species.

Plant phenolic antioxidants, among them catechins and hydroxycinnamoyl conjugates, constitute a well defined class of inhibitors of reactive nitrogen species (RNS). To gain deeper insight in this field, we examined the effects of 3,5-di-O-caffeoylquinic acid (DCA), its methyl ester (DCE) and epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) in nitrative and oxidative processes. These compounds were found to be strong inhibitors of the nitration of tyrosine residues induced by ONOO- in bovine seroalbumin, with their IC50 values (10-40 microM) notably decreasing in the presence of bicarbonate. Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) is highly protective in various pathophysiological states such as cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. HO-1-derived bilirubin is an efficient scavenger of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS). It remains to determine whether conversion of biliverdin to bilirubin is an essential step for HO-1-conferred protection of endothelial cells. Triazolopyridines 22.1 Description of new 7,9-di(2-pyridyl)[1,2,3]triazolo[5',1':6,1]pyrido[3,2-d]pyrimidines

The new heteroaromatic compounds, 7,9-di(2-pyridyl)[1,2,3]triazolo[5',1':6,1]pyrido[3,2-d] pyrimidines 11a-c, were synthesized in two steps from readily available triazolopyridines 1a-c. Regioselective lithiation of 1a-c followed by treatment with 2-cyanopyridine gave a mixture of compounds 5a-c, and 11a-c in moderate to low yields, together with gums. Similar reactions with the triazolopyridine 1d gave as the only identified compound the triazolopyridine derivative 5d. 1H, 13C and 15N NMR and electrospray ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometric characterizations of five lithocholate esters of piperazine diamides are described. Two of them are cholaphane-type cyclic structures esterified with 2,2′-bipyridine-4,4 ′ - and pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid and the other three esters are open structures comprising two or four lithocholyl residues. International audience; The effects of oxidoreduction potential (Eh) combined with acetic acid, NaCl and temperature on the growth, acidification, and membrane properties of Lactobacillus plantarum were studied. The culture medium was set at pH 5, and two different Eh values were adjusted using nitrogen (Eh = +350 mV) or hydrogen (Eh = -300 mV) gas. In reducing condition, the growth was slowed and the acidification delayed at 37 degrees C, but not at 10 degrees C. A synergistic inhibitory effect of reducing Eh, acetic acid and NaCl was observed, mainly for delaying the lag phase before acidification. The recently launched and upcoming hyperspectral satellite missions, featuring contiguous visible-to-shortwave infrared spectral information, are opening unprecedented opportunities for the retrieval of a broad set of vegetation traits with enhanced accuracy through novel retrieval schemes. Multinuclear 1H, 13C and 15N NMR study of some substituted 2-amino-4-nitropyridines and their N-oxides.

1H, 13C and 15N NMR chemical shift assignments based on pulsed field gradient selected PFG 1H,X (X = 15C and 15N) HMQC and HMBC experiments are reported for three 4-nitropyridine N-oxides and four 4-nitropyridines. It was found that an ortho effect of a methyl group inhibits the deshielding effect of the 4-nitro group and that this effect and the so-called back donation is influenced by electronegativity and position of substituents in the multisubstituted pyridine N-oxides. The shielding effect of N-oxide group is most pronounced in the 15N NMR chemical shifts of the studied compounds.
