NEW RESULTS ON NONMESONIC WEAK DECAY OF Lambda HYPERNUCLEI WITH FINUDA
2010
The FINUDA experiment has performed a systematic study of the NonMesonic Weak Decay (NMWD) of Λ hypernuclei analizing all the data collected from 2003 up to 2007. The results of a measurement of the spectra of protons coming from the NMWD of [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] are the subject of this paper.
Mesonic and Non-Mesonic Weak Decay of Hypernuclei with FINUDA
2009
Abstract The FINUDA experiment performed a systematic study of both mesonic and non-mesonic weak decay of p - shell Λ-hypernuclei. Recent results on the mesonic decay rates and the non-mesonic decay ratios are illustrated and briefly discussed.
Optimal Timing for Oocyte Denudation and Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection
2011
Objectives. To analyze the impact of oocyte denudation and microinjection timings on intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) outcomes.Study Design. We included ICSI cycles with the following parameters: rank 1 or 2, female age years, male factor infertility, long protocol using GnRH agonist and rFSH for ovarian stimulation, and use of freshly ejaculated sperm (). Several ICSI parameters were analyzed according to the time between oocyte retrieval and denudation () and the time between denudation and ICSI () using a statistical logistic regression analysis.Results. Neither nor had a significant influence on the Metaphase II (MII) rate but the fertilisation rate (FR) showed a significant impr…
Quantification de l’ablation d’un bassin versant marno-calcaire alpin durant le Petit Age Glaciaire par l’étude d’un système lacustre (cas du lac du «…

Measurements of present-day erosion may give heterogeneous results according to the methods used. This article proposes an approach to erosion during the Little Ice Age by the quantitative analysis of detritical materials trapped in a dammed lake. This infill is recognized through two drillings, and these specific observations are supplemented by a seismic reflexion survey which provided a reliable estimate of the geometry of the lake infill. The sedimentary production is calculated from three pieces of data: (1) the surface of the drainage area, (2) duration of the lake system activity and (3) the volume of trapped sediments. From the three determined variables, we propose a detritical product…
Surface denudation rate of gypsum in Sicily
2016
Studies on surface denudation rate of karst rocks were carried out for many years with different methods, although researches on limestones are much more numerous than those on gypsum. In Sicily the most large and complete Messinian evaporite succession of Gruppo Gessoso – Solfifero outcrops and since 1993-1994 surface denudation measurements were performed on different types of gypsum by the Micro-Erosion Meter (M.E.M.) method. MEM stations were placed on natural sites representing different lithological features of gypsum outcrops of the Island: 1) selenite gypsum with centimetre-sized crystals; 2) selenite gypsum with sub-centimetre crystals; 3) gypsum arenite; 4) microcrystalline gypsum…
Phytotoxic effects of essential oils of Nepeta curviflora Boiss and Nepeta nuda L.subsp. albiflora growing wild in Lebanon
2009
The chemical composition of the essential oils of two Nepeta species collected in Lebanon was studied by means of GC and GC-MS analysis. The essential oil from N. curviflora Boiss. contained high amounts of β-caryophyllene (41.6%), caryophyllene oxide (9.5%), (E)-β-farnesene (6.2%) and (Z)-β-farnesene (4.8%); in the oil from N. nuda L. subsp. albiflora (Boiss.) Gams. collected in Laklouk the main compounds were β-bisabolene (11.8%), pulegone (10.8%), (E,Z)-nepetalactone (8.0%), (E)-β-farnesene (7.1%) and caryophyllene oxide (6.9%), while N. nuda L. subsp. albiflora collected in Tannourine Cedar Forest contained high percentages of hexadecanoic acid (10.1%), β-bisabolene (7.8%), caryophyllen…
Late Paleozoic Ice Age glaciers shaped East Antarctica landscape
2019
International audience; The erosion history of Antarctica is fundamental to our understanding of interlinks between climate and glacier dynamics. However, because of the vast polar ice sheet covering more than 99% of Antarctica land mass, the continental surface response to glacial erosion remains largely unknown. Over the last decade the subglacial topography of Antarctica has been imaged by airborne radar surveys. These studies revealed high and complex sub-glacial relief in the core of the East Antarctic shield, interpreted as resulting from rifting episodes and low long-term erosion rates, or repeated large-scale glacial retreats and advances. In East Antarctica, thermochronology studie…
