Digitalized bioeconomy: Planned obsolescence-driven circular economy enabled by Co-Evolutionary coupling
2019
Driven by digital solutions, the bioeconomy is taking major steps forward in recent years toward achievement of the long-lasting goal of transition from a traditional fossil economy to a bioeconomy-based circular economy. The coupling of digitalization and bioeconomy is leading towards a digitalized bioeconomy that can satisfy the shift in consumers’ preferences for eco-consciousness, which in turn induces coupling of up-down stream operation in the value chain. Thus, the co-evolution of the coupling of digitalization and bioeconomy and of upstream and downstream operations is transforming the forest-based bioeconomy into a digital platform industry. Aiming at addressing this transformation…

TECNOLOGICAL PARAMETERS OF SUSTAINABILITY: FACTORS OF DECAY AND PREVENTION MEASURES
2006
This is the age of the"global knowledge", of the "local inadequacies", of the specialist enterprises and of the management difficulties. Today is necessary to create new perspectives to limit the rissk both material (structural decay / phisical obsolescence/ security needs/ static disease) and cultural and environmental (funtion degradations - inattentive environmental conditions) and to realize the right living conditions and protection for the development of guidelines for the 21st century construction. This research aims at the creation of new tools for developing a history of building technologies as they relate to their pathologies.
Obsolescenza precoce e garanzia di durabilità nella vendita di beni di consumo: note comparatistiche
2023
The essay analyses the legal guarantee of contracts for the sale of consumer goods under Directive (EU) 2019/771, which has expressly introduced durability as an objective requirement for conformity to achieve more sustainable consumption patterns and a circular economy in an increasingly digital-driven market. Such regulatory innovation, however, does not lengthen products' lifespans nor raise consumer protection against premature obsolescence. In anticipation of the revision of the directive by the first half of 2024, the Author underlines the main weaknesses of the legal guarantee of durability and, assisted by the use of a comparative method, suggests that only a pre-contractual informa…
Learning to learn in universities 4.0. Human Obsolescence and short-term change
2020
The 4th Industrial Revolution has modified the model of society worldwide. Short-term change has taken hold of everyday life, and people who do not cope with it become obsolete. Under this scenario, the life and work of the university graduates became fickle since their near future grows in uncertainty. Thus, we aimed to shed light on human optimization pathways from Higher Education in the knowledge-based society and economy, which made possible a new industry. In this line, we conducted an analysis underpinned by critical hermeneutics from educational policy proposals, research findings, and analytical philosophy. After analyzing the context, the person, and the learning needs, we offered…
