On FE-grid relocation in solving unilateral boundary value problems by FEM

We consider FE-grid optimization in elliptic unilateral boundary value problems. The criterion used in grid optimization is the total potential energy of the system. It is shown that minimization of this cost functional means a decrease of the discretization error or a better approximation of the unilateral boundary conditions, Design sensitivity analysis is given with respect to the movement of nodal points. Numerical results for the Dirichlet-Signorini problem for the Laplace equation and the plane elasticity problem with unilateral boundary conditions are given. In plane elasticity we consider problems with and without friction. peerReviewed

Fish populations are linked to each other via dispersal of individuals as eggs, larvae, juveniles or adults. The understanding of this process, known as connectivity, has a pivotal role for the management of overexploited fish stocks and the development of accurate conservation strategies. Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt saistību starp bērnībā piedzīvotu fizisko sodīšanu, uztverto vecāku emocionālo siltumu un trauksmes un depresijas simptomiem pieaugušo vecumā, kā arī noteikt, vai uztvertais vecāku emocionālais siltums bērnībā darbojas kā mediators starp bērnībā piedzīvoto fiziskās sodīšanas pieredzi un depresijas un trauksmes simptomiem pieaugušo vecumā. The analysis of the evolution of the settlement requires a lot of methodological questioning. Despite a frequent use of the spatial analysis methods, few works return to their methodological problems. This article proposes to make a comparison and a discussion around two exploratory statistical methods (the K function of Ripley and the Kernel Density Estimation). In recent years, agricultural and industrial residues have attracted a lot of interest in the recovery of phytochemicals used in the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries. In this paper, a study on the recovery of phenol compounds from Lycium spp. leaves is presented. Ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) and microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) have been used with alcoholic and hydroalcoholic solvents. Methanolic UAE was the most successful technique for extracting phenols from Lycium leaves, and we used on leaves from L. barbarum and L. chinense cultivated in Italy.
