Mentalizing in Organizations: A Psychodynamic Model for an Understanding of Well-Being and Suffering in the Work Contexts

Moving from the paradigms of “mentalization” and “reflective function” (Fonagy and colleagues), this article develops the concept of “mentalizing” in organizations, understood as a process of construction of shared meaning in the work contexts, and whose absence or deterioration produces suffering in organizational experience, exposing individuals to significant psychosocial risks. This model converges in outlining a framework in which the absence of a reflective competence and the lack of symbolization of the experience of work fall on the perception of one's own job, and on the relationship with colleagues and management, producing unsustainability of the work experience. Understanding Structure and Stability of Monoclinic Zirconia Surfaces from First-Principles Calculations

Under the water-rich pre-treatment and/or reaction conditions, structure and chemistry of the monoclinic zirconia surfaces are strongly influenced by oxygen vacancies and incorporated water. Here, we report a combined first-principles and atomistic thermodynamics study on the structure and stability of selected surfaces of the monoclinic zirconia. Our results indicate that among the studied surfaces, the most stable (111) surface is the least vulnerable towards oxygen vacancies in contrast to the less stable (011) and (101) surfaces, where formation of oxygen vacancies is energetically more favorable. Questa riproposizione in italiano dell’ultimo lavoro di Tullio Levi-Civita (1873- 1941) nasce da una esigenza culturale forte. Nel 2018 Padova e la sua Università hanno celebrato il loro grande scienziato con un importante convegno, accompagnato dalla ristampa di una selezione di suoi lavori, comprendente la sua tesi di laurea autografa. L’ultimo suo lavoro scientifico, “Le problème des n corps en relativité générale”, fu redatto in francese, e per le note vicende risalenti all’abominia fascista delle leggi razziali, fu stampato solo postumo, nel 1950, a cura dell’Accademia delle Scienze di Parigi.

Arterial hypertension is a significant cause of end-stage renal failure; effective treatment of hypertensive patients reduces the rate of progression of this disorder. ss-Blockers, particularly nonselective agents, are associated with deterioration of renal function in patients with chronic renal failure. Questo lavoro contiene una rassegna dei metodi che sono usati per la previsione delle prestazioni del veicolo su strada, in dipendenza del motore installato. La prima parte mostra il calcolo delle resistenze al moto, cioè le forze che il veicolo deve vincere per avanzare sulle strade piane e in salita. Particolarmente interessante appare la parte che riguarda la resistenza aerodinamica, della quale si tratta di metodi sperimentali (galleria del vento), metodi empirici e metodi CFD. In this work, 13 jet nebulizers, some of which in different configurations, were investigated in order to identify the biopharmaceutical constraints related to the quality attributes of the medicinal products, which affect their safety, efficiency, compliance, and effectiveness. The aerosolization parameters, including the aerosol output, aerosol output rate, mass median aerodynamic diameter, and fine particle fraction, were determined according to the European Standard EN 13544-1, using sodium fluoride as a reference formulation. Following a phenomenological understanding of the body and embodiment, this paper explores corporeal ethics as a practice in organisations. With the phenomenology of Merleau-Ponty, bodily dimensions and enfleshed intercorporeality are seen as media for ethically enacted and morally responsive, thus responsible forms of practicing and relationships. Then the article discusses specific forms of responsive and caring practices as well as the ethical relevance of bodies at work in organisations. Finally, practical, political, and theoretical implications are offered and perspectives for further investigating and incorporating practicing of ethics in organisations are outlined. peerReviewed
