NEAR INFRARED PICOSECOND PULSED BACKWARD SECOND-HARMONIC-GENERATION IN PERIODICALLY-POLED LITHIUM NIOBATE

We report on backward second-harmonic-generation in bulk periodically-poled congruent lithium niobate with a 3.2μm period. A picosecond pulsed laser allowed us exciting a resonance at 1722nm. The resonances were also resolved by temperature tuning.

Congenital cystic lesions of the bile ducts represent a spectrum of liver and biliary system lesions, resulting from abnormal embryologic development of the ductal plate. These disorders include Caroli disease, choledochal cysts, autosomal dominant polycystic liver disease, congenital hepatic fibrosis, and biliary hamartomas. Each disorder carries a peculiar clinical presentation, prognosis, and risk of complications. Knowledge of radiological findings of fibropolycystic liver diseases is crucial for their appropriate detection and for differential diagnosis with other similar hepatic cystic lesions, in order to avoid relevant misdiagnosis. An orange-red-emitting iridium complex (N958) was prepared, and its photophysical and device-based characteristics were investigated. Despite N958 displaying quite poor photophysical properties in solution (acetonitrile), organic light-emitting diode (OLED) devices based on the complex exhibit an efficiency close to 10%.

The clinical significance of serum interleukin-6 (IL-6) and its correlation with cystatin C (Cyst C), an endogenous inhibitor of cysteine proteinase cathepsin K, was investigated by immunoassays in patients with bone metastasis from breast cancer (BCa) or prostate cancer (PCa).
