We consider the computationally efficient time integration of Maxwell’s equations using discrete exterior calculus (DEC) as the computational framework. With the theory of DEC, we associate the degrees of freedom of the electric and magnetic fields with primal and dual mesh structures, respectively. We concentrate on mesh constructions that imitate the geometry of the close packing in crystal lattices that is typical of elemental metals and intermetallic compounds. Everyone who acquires a new language at school or elsewhere has the right to learn good pronunciation. As phonetic errors are foreseeable, this paper begins by delineating deviations in (co)articulation and prosody which are typical of Italian learners of German, with the aim of examining how far these specific, predictable phonetic problems are treated in German textbooks used in Italy. Tongue twisters are a controversial pronunciation teaching classic. Whereas some see tongue twisters difficult and frustrating for learners, others find them fun and motivating. This study was inspired by these opposing views and the fact that previous studies have failed to offer convincing proof of whether this technique works for L2 pronunciation learning. Aizskarošu tekstu filtrēšana ar neironu tīklu metodēm

Pētījuma mērķis ir izstrādāt neironu tīklu modeli, kas spēj izvērtēt angļu valodā rakstītu tekstu un noteikt aizskaroša satura esamību. Pētījuma ietvaros apskatītas tādas teksta apstrādes metodes kā lemmatizēšana un teksta sadalīšana tekstvienībās, veikta datu kopas sagatavošana un salīdzināti vairāki neironu tīklu arhitektūru tipi. Rezultātā iegūts neironu tīkla modelis, kas ar 93,75% precizitāti spēj noteikt aizskaroša teksta esamību noteiktā teksta gabalā. Izstrādātais modelis pārsēj pētījumā apskatīto bāzlīnijas metodes precizitāti par 33,28%. Pētījuma ietvaros izstrādāta tīmekļa lietotne, kas pielieto izstrādāto modeli un vizuāli ataino iegūtos rezultātus.

Tekstūru ģenerēšana ir vispārīgas attēlu ģenerēšanas vienkāršots gadījums. Darbā apskatīta parametriska tekstūru ģenerēšana, kuras mērķis ir spēt atdarināt kāda materiāla attēlu, lai no tā ražotu praktiski neizsmeļamu skaitu vizuāli līdzīgu paraugu. Galvenais ģenerētā rezultāta kvalitātes kritērijs ir cilvēka uztvere. Perfekti uzģenerēta tekstūra ir tāda, kuru neatkarīgs novērotājs no malas nespēj atšķirt no oriģināla. Darbā tiek izpētītas neironu tīklu metodes tekstūru ģenerēšanā. Tiek apskatīti esošie pētījumi, īsumā skaidroti neironu tīklu teorijas pamati, uz kuriem šīs metodes tiek balstītas, pakāpeniski nonākot līdz reāla neironu tīklu prototipa izveidei un apmācībai šīs problēmas risi…
