Thermo-mechanical volume change behaviour of Opalinus Clay

The paper examines the thermo-mechanical volume change behaviour of Opalinus Clay in relation to different stress conditions and overconsolidation ratio (OCR) values and evaluates the impact of temperature on some hydro-mechanical properties of this material. To this aim, a focused experimental campaign consisting in high-temperature/high-pressure oedometric tests has been carried out. Molecular characterization of cyclic and obligate parthenogens in the aphid Rhopalosiphum padi (L.)

Holocyclic clones of the aphid Rhopalosiphum padi (L.) reproduce by cyclic parthenogenesis, whereas anholocyclic individuals are obligate parthenogens. Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) and random amplified polymorphic DNA markers in R . padi as well as plasmid DNA markers of its bacterial endosymbiont, Buchnera aphidicola , were examined to determine the extent of genetic divergence between clones with these differing breeding systems. These analyses revealed that cyclically parthenogenetic lineages possessed differing mtDNA and plasmid haplotypes than most obligately asexual clones. The Roles of Adherence and Usage Activity in Adolescents' Intervention Gains During Brief Guided Online Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

OBJECTIVEThis study investigated the roles of adherence and usage activity in adolescents’ (n = 161) gains during a 5-week web intervention program based on acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).METHODProgram adherence was calculated as adherence percentage in relation to intended usage, whereas completion percentage, usage time, and usage weeks were used as indicators for usage activity. Subjective well-being was measured by self-reported life satisfaction and stress before and after the intervention.RESULTSFirst, regression analysis results showed that higher adherence predicted an increase in life satisfaction during intervention. Perinteinen luento-opetus on edelleen yleinen opetusmuoto yliopistoissa. Tällaisia yksisuuntaisia luentoja on kuitenkin kritisoitu siitä, että ne eivät tarjoa opiskelijoille mahdollisuuksia vuorovaikutukseen ja aktiiviseen osallistumiseen. Kehittämishankkeemme tarkoitus oli lisätä luento-opetukseen vuorovaikutteisuutta Viestiseinä-sovelluksen avulla. Verkkosovellusta käytettiin kolmen luentosarjan opetuksessa Jyväskylän yliopistossa. Tavoitteena oli sekä tunnistaa sovelluksen käyttötapoja, joiden avulla kyseistä teknologiaa voidaan hyödyntää osana opetusta, että kehittää sovellusta käyttäjien tarpeita vastaavaksi.
